Original article updated: "This development comes as somewhat of a surprise given that there was no indication that Wakefield, who has an 11-3 record and a 4.31 ERA this season, was on the verge of a DL stint. The 42-year-old, who made his first All-Star team this season, has not pitched since July 8 against Oakland, but that seemed no cause for alarm since the All-Star break allowed for some extra rest. Buchholz pitched very well in his first big league start of the season Friday, the Red Sox' first game after the break. He allowed 4 hits and 1 earned run in 5.2 innings in a 4-1 victory over the Blue Jays. He walked three and struck out three. Buchholz, 24, had been recalled from Pawtucket, where he has been sensational for much of the season (7-2, 2.36 ERA), ostensibly to give the Red Sox' rotation an extra day of rest coming out of the All-Star break. He was sent back down after the game"

Texiera again TK? Really? Seriously? Who gives a crap about anything A-Rod says? It's a matter of opinion as to whether he is right or wrong. Can he predict the future now? When the All-Star game was in Detroit a few years ago, A-Rod said that he thought the A.S. game was good for the state of Detroit. Now maybe if he had said something like, "if the Red Sox had signed me in 2004, they wouldn't have won the World Series in 2004 and 2007" there would be some credibility to that.

He said the runs he gave up were unacceptable. He got no run support, it's a combination of a team hittng slump and some bad outtings for pitchers since the AS break. So should the Sox just release him after 4 starts? "Well, we've given him enough time, he 'doesn't have a grip on reality'. We've got Beckett, Lester, Wake, Penny, Buch and maybe Dice-K can help out. But in your mind, only Halladay will do. Way to early to panic, but knock yourself out. Your negativity is over-whelming and tiresome. -
