  1. now the sox and yankees have a 5 game series at Fenway, August 18-21. 5 games in 4 days, should be a fun weekend
  2. Sox Lineup 1. Kevin Youkilis, 1B 2. Mark Loretta, 2B 3. David Ortiz, DH 4. Manny Ramirez, LF 5. Trot Nixon, RF 6. Jason Varitek, C 7. Mike Lowell, 3B 8. Wily Mo Pena, CF 9. Alex Gonzalez, SS -- Josh Beckett, P
  3. Arroyos shut down the Cubs, Cardinals, Millwaukee and Washington, all (maybe not MIL) are contenders in the NL. Last 3 games--- MIL--8 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 8 K's WAS--8 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 8 K's STL--9 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 4 K's those teams have some pretty good hitters. Probably wouldnt put those numbers up against some AL East teams, but he still would be a help in the rotation.
  4. maybe not this good, but the way hes been pitching, atleast 3-4 wins with an era around/under 3. Its not like the NL Central is a AAA division. Cardinals have a good lineup, the Cubs and Astros lineups aren't but either.
  5. sorry to bring this discussion back to life, but i just noticed that in Yahoo Fantasy Baseball, Arroyo is the 2nd best player next to Pujols. Hes 5-0 with an era of 2.06 (6th best in mlb), a whip of .89 (6th best in mlb) and is 8th in the majors with 34 K's. What if Arroyo is a late-bloomer and is just now starting to go into the prime of his career? What if Willy-Mo never learns to hit a curveball and strikes out 150 times every season? When the trade first happened i thought it was a steal for the Sox, but now it looks questionable. If Willy Mo gets 350 AB's this year, hes onpase to K 131 times, which for that many AB's is ridiculous. Now we are in need of another starter, as long as papelbons the closer, and we have few options left.
  6. mlbtraderumors.com if true, does this possibly mean a they could consider moving him to get Dontrell?
  7. it hasnt been raining for a while, but its supposed to be on and off all through tommorow
  8. anyone have any weather updates?
  9. ya im going tonight, BETTER not be a rainout. Cant wait to see Beckett shut down the Yanks
  10. the Vikings have signed alot of the good remaining UFA WR Jason Carter, Texas A&M WR Kyle Smith, Youngstown State WR Hank Baskett, New Mexico WR Barrick Nealy, Texas State OT Albert Stinson, Jackson State FB Steven Jackson, Clemson RB Taureen Henderson, Texas Tech P John Torp, Colorado OL Jason Palermo, Wisconsin OT Donald Penn, Utah State CB Robert Cobb, Massachusetts RB Wendell Mathis, Fresno State DE Jayme Mitchell, Mississippi DT Manase Hopoi, Washington LB Kyle McKenzie, Minnesota was hoping the pats would go after alot of the top guys, Nance, Parham and Havner are still available though
  11. pats already have signed one UFA, ILB Freddie Roach from Alabama
  12. Belicheck said in his news confernece hed add about 15 UFA to fill the 80 man pre-season roster
  13. doesnt effect his MLB status, but he can be suspended for 2 years for International Baseball

  15. Martin Nance scouting report--- Strengths: Has tremendous size and a big frame...Is a major threat in the red zone...Is underrated athletically...Good leaper who knows how to go up and get the ball...Has big, strong, reliable hands...Will make the acrobatic catch...Physical and knows how to use his body...Tough player who is more than willing to go over the middle...Solid route runner...Intangibles are top notch...Very productive. Weaknesses: May not always play up to his timed speed...Is not very quick...Isn't an explosive athlete...Could have trouble getting separation against pro defensive backs...Probably won't be a major deep threat at the pro level...Will lose focus at times...Has missed some time due to injury...If he doesn't run well in workouts teams may downgrade his upside to that of a #2 or possession receiver. Notes: Had a monster season in 2003 (90 rec. for 1,498 yards and 11 touchdowns) as Ben Roethlisberger's main target...Missed most of the 2004 season with an ACL injury to his left knee...Based on size, speed and production this guy has just about everything you look for and is potentially a #1 receiver at the next level.
  16. UFA id like to see the Pats look at... QB--Barrick Nealy, 6-5 220 runs a 4.50, underrated player who could help at wideout or work as the emergency QB WR--Martin Nance,6-5 215 runs a 4.50, dont know how this guy wasnt drafted, most mock drafts had him going 2-3 round. Tall wideout who could help out around the goalline. MLB--Kai Parham, 6-3 255 runs a 4.90, big ILB who is great against the run and could be a good compliment to Bruschi in the pats 3-4 CB--Anwar Phillips, 6-0 195 runs a 4.58, overshadowed by Alan Zemaitis, smart and has good physical skills for a corner OLB--Spencer Havner, 6-4 250 runs a 4.70, should have been a day 1 pick but has had alot of injuries RB--Taurean Henderson, 5-10 205 runs a 4.60, one of the best recieving RB in the draft, should be a good 3rd down back, since maroney cant catch the ball well out of the backfield, he could be a kevin faulk type of player
  17. 1. Laurence Maroney–RB 2. Chad Jackson—WR 3. David Thomas–TE 4a. Garrett Mills–TE/FB 4b. Stephen Gostkowski–K 5. Ryan O’Callaghan–OL 6a. Jeremy Mincey–OLB 6b. Dan Stevenson—OG 6c. Le Kevin Smith–DT 7. Willie Andrews–DB/KR ill give them a B for the draft. I like the Maroney and Jackson picks. Dont know about the 2 TE's they got, dont think that was a big need. their 5-7 round picks i think were all pretty good, possible steals. Only problem is that they drafted one linebacker, who probably wont be good enough to start and they took no DB's untill the 7th round.
  18. they still could use another WR, DB, NG or LB
  19. finally the pats take a defensive player. Minceys a pretty good pick in the 6th round, he could help them right away.
  20. i guess this guys more of an H-Back/FB. He was rated as the best FB by ESPN.
  21. someone PLEASE explain to me why we need another TE
  22. why the f*** did the pats just take another TE :thumbdown
  23. i really hope the pats take Barrick Nealy tommorow. 6-4 225 QB with a 4.55 40 time. He could end up being a wideout, but hes a great athlete with a cannon. He could be a good 3rd QB/ 5th WR for the Pats as a 6th/7th round pick.
  24. thomas is also a long snapper, obviuosly he was brought in to play TE but maybe he could end up long snapping to.
  25. 4a. Derek Anderson–OLB 4b. Will Blackmon–CB 5. Montavious Stanley–DT 6a. Jeromey Clary–OL 6b. Barrick Nealy–QB 6c. Aaron Harris—MLB 7. John Pannozzo–FB probally want use all their picks tommorow, but if they did thats what id like them to do
