  1. As an employee, I never did like those damn sports writers. They thought they could go anywhere in the park because they are GOD and they know everything. Clearly, they don't know as much as they claim they do. They were never behind the scenes unless it was in the locker room. But nothing too important can be learned there. MVP, to me, is the man who steps up on and off the field, as well. I worked the new underground batting tunnel this year which was behind the dugout. The days after blowouts or losses in general, most of the guys were down. Ortiz would walk in and everyone would be laughing. He always cracked a joke or two and just lightened the mood. He could even get Schilling, who couldn't smile if you paid him, to crack a few laughs. Besides Millar, he was the team clown. He would always talk to the employees too, just regular guys who happen to see him everyday. I can almost guarantee that Arod didnt give two shits about the employees who bust their balls everyday for crap money just to make sure he and his pinstripes can play their games. Ortiz was just the man on and off the field, but of course all that lesser stuff doesn't matter for the award. Jayson Stark put it perfectly. It seems the MLB hardknocks changed around the rules this year just so Arod could win. I wonder how many figures that set back Steinbrenner. And yes, Arod was good with the glove, but then again he is the master at the "glove" in bed with Jeter.
  2. ^^^^ Yea I see them every game because of where I work near the clubhouse before the games. But, I'm not hating Tony either. They all make mistakes, his just happened to come at a bad time. I'll give him some hope if I see him today.
  3. Pete Rose for MVP.
  4. That's not too bad...Yawkee Way is open for smoking but for the people who don't want to walk there, you usually get people smoking in the concourses and the new first base deck because it's open air.
  5. well obviously theres no way we can kick out 35,000 fans. but if there is dead silence in one section and you can point out one loud mouth, disorderly drunk screaming swears and being obnoxious then you can handle that one person. theres been plenty of those cases at games.
  6. yea, we do that at Fenway too, just scan the tix. the security is the front line, we see the fans before the ticket takers do. if you have a yanks suck shirt on when you get up to security you have to turn it around. a lot of the guys make you give it up if you have something else to wear. they mark your ticket and if you throw it out then its a judgment call.
  7. We mark all your tickets, well the smart security guards, and if you are seen with the shirt again and a marked ticket, you get tossed.
  8. Yea, I could only find the first 2-3 minutes of the celebration, can spot myself in a long shot, but not the shot I'm looking for.
  9. Hey all...I already posted this in the individual game forum and thought I would give it a shot here. Well, you can probably tell by my user name what I do for the sox. I was on the Sox dugout after the game during the celebration on the field and appearently I had a clear, front shot on NESN for about 10-15 seconds. Noone who saw me or anyone period taped the game/celebration. I was wondering if any of you had it on disc or anyway I could probably get a copy? That would be awesome. I guess I popped up near the end of the celebration. Thanks to anyone who can help!
