Question: What happend to Chacon? Torre: "I dont know" By reading into Torre's other comments on Chacon it sounds like Chacon might not start next Sunday. Steven White might get the call (Thats my personal opinion).

Back to AA trenton where they have some good pitching....Tyler Clippard threw an 8 Inning 1 hitter tonight striking out 11. He got off to a very rocky start but his past 4 or 5 starts have been very good.

And Torre goes to the pen....why he is brining in Ron Villone is beyond me. I guess hes killed Proctor now its time to kill Villone. Sometimes you have to give up on games because using Villone here is a waste.

I must admit....I am VERY concerned about this team. I thought Kay made a rare BUT good point. Unlike the Yankee teams from the past this team will NEVER be able to go on a long winning streak if their 4th and 5th starters along with Randy Johnson cant give them anything. During the dynasty years it was possible to go on long winning streaks when you can throw Clemens, Pettitte, Cone and El Duque out there. I dont think they need a dominate pitcher I just think they need to find an innings eater because the pen is getting taxed. 3 run shot by Hafner. 7-1, Time too root hard for the D-Rays.

He is without a doubt the best umpire. Another terrible umpire that I know is Joe West.

C.B. Bucknor is the biggest joke of an umpire I have ever seen. I thought Angel Hernandez was bad but this guy flat out sucks. That said the Yankees should have murdered Sowers. It felt like the Yankees hit rockets but right at people. Oh well lost chance to move up and gain a game on the Sox.

I agree 100%. They prob should trade Somltz. If they were smart maybe the could get a pitching starved team to also bite on Tim Hudson who has stunk it up this year.

I think theres no chance. 1. From what I hear Omar will only move him for a younger pitcher I.E. Willis and even that is doubtful. 2. Would Schuerholz really trade Smoltz in the division to the Mets of all people?

The knock that I hear on him is his fastball is explosive but his breaking ball is well behind it.

I'm still trying to figure out how Marcus Thames has given the Tigers a 1037 OPS. Its remarkable the production they have gotten out of some hitters.

The NL is a joke. Pedro is now out with a hip problem and you have to wonder how he will be when they reach October.. Glavine (outside of his last start which was impressive) was just terrible in june but still won some games. The rest of the roto is not good IMHO. They will call up Pelfrey soon and it will be intresting to see how well he does. From what I understand he has a great fastball but his secondary stuff isnt as nearly as good as other top prospects.

They actually agreed with me. They had no idea what he was upset about. I actually dont care about it. I have a bigger problem with my pitcher giving up the HR.
