I'm not sure how smart it is to give up someone like McCarthy for a free agent to be in Soriano. I understand what Kenny Williams is doing. The pitching market is thin so if you cant upgrade over guys like Vazquez and Garcia then why not make the offense stronger.

I still cant understand why Crosby is on this team. Its amazing how far having "guts" can get you (atleast on the Yankees).

I'm not sure. I just think that its a waste to keep him on this roster. This team has a very thin bench. If they have a chance to upgrade (Kevin Thompson) they should do it.

The only reason why Cashman said he was fine with sticking with Bubba in CF was so the price of a CF wouldnt sky rocket. Keeping him on as a backup is useless. DFA Bubba and call up Kevin Thompson.

I cant believe Torre called on Kris Wilson in a 1 run game. I understand its early but hes used Ron Villon early in ball games and chances are he will be used in this ball game. He could have also gone to Shawn Chacon. Anyone but Kris Wilson. BTW If Bubba Crosy is still on this team after todays game then the Yankee front office is really inept.

A-Rod K's on a spinning slider he should have killed. Hes lost.

The thing that annoys me the most is hes missing hitters pitches. He struck out eariler on a hanging breaking ball and he just struck out on a fastball belt high down the middle.

About damn time A-Rod. A-Rod had some good hacks against Burnett prior to his K in his last AB this time he put it in the seats. Hold him here Jaret.

I dont know if its the turf but Jeter and A-Rod look like they are playing with cement cleats. A-Rod should have had the lead off double and if Jeter had any range the inning would be over. Put the Red Sox left side of the INF out there and its the Top of the 2nd.

If he asks out of his contract he will be the most hated fomer NY athlete ever. I also think that will be a huge mark against his career. Asking out of two tough situations. The last being because he cant hack it mentally? Talk about a bitch.

Yeah Mussina should not have said that. He should have said something like the error didnt help but I needed to pick up my teamates and I wasnt able too. Leave it at that. I'm sure other players are just as upset.

Mussina was pretty honest. He was asked if that error opened the door to the Blue Jays and he responded with a simple "Yes".

Do you listen to Kay's show on 1050? Its the biggest piece of trash. I've never seen anyone defend A-Rod like Kay does. If you listen to the things A-Rod says it can drive you nuts. He calls himself "brilliant" after he made that DP against the White Sox. Why cant he just be bland? Why cant he pull a Jeter and not give anything worth writing to the media.

Its good to know A-Rod is feeling well about the rest of his defensive game. It was only that one little play in the 6th inning. Thats all!

BTW Some very good news today. Matsui had x-rays done on his wrist and the bones have fused back together "perfectly". Once the muscle soreness goes away he will be cleared to take BP. Maybe this takes away the need for a COF if they can get him back maybe mid to late August. Matsui said he would like to come back August 15th. Who knows how realistic that is.

True, you can also say the Yankees could have won yesterdays game if the umpire allows Phillips to go to 3rd with 0 outs instead of saying time was called when it wasnt.

Hey, Wells does have 3 bombs off of Beckett. ORS made a comment about how he has seen that location before. I just attached a name to it. I could have used Randy Johnson also. The Jays rape RJ everytime they face him and I'm sure Wells is in the middle of that damage.
