  1. All kidding aside, thanks for your time in the Marines, I appreciate it. Smartass maybe but I don't consider myself an idiot. Truce.
  2. A++ in math and captain of the Debate team. You must be very proud. (note the extra "+", also an exaggeration, I guess I don't learn) Anyway, I think we're on the same side here. Neither of us want to see Manny go, but I think people, mostly the evil media, are making way too big a deal out of Manny's behavior. He doesn't do any of this with contempt to anyone or the team. He may be a little naive to his own behavior, but with the media, some fans, and maybe the management (hopefully not) treating him the way they have, is no way of making him aware of his odd behavior. It'll run him out of town. Just what the media wants. They're bored with the Sox being in first place with nothing to complain about and they loved the big trade last year (me too), they want to see it again. Anything for a major subject to talk about. It doesn't help the team at all though. He's known as a guy that everyone in the clubhouse loves, except maybe Curt, but Curt is an arrogant dushbag if you ask me (doesn't mean I don't like his pitching and what he's done for the Sox). I know everyone hates the saying 'let Manny be Manny' but I'm down with it so as long as he produces the way he does and isn't intentionally a dick.
  3. i know that you're a moron
  4. holy crap you're a geek, i appreciate your response but lay off the math corrections, i was exaggerating to make a point. critical of Manny is fine, bashing him is wrong and he does not deserve it.
  5. looks like Schilling is breaking up the team. he's the selfish one, he should respect Manny's need for a day off and trust that he really needed it.
  6. I will not be an apologist for Manny. For all his millions, the team needed him and he said "No". That says alot about him as a person. uhhh... they didn't need him. they won. he needed the day off so he could continue to be the best player on the team.
  7. "I personally don't understand how someone "needs" the day off from lolly-gagging in the field and strolling down the base paths." EXACTLY! you don't understand because you are not him and you have no idea what it is like to be him. "lolly-gagging in the field", it is often said that Manny is the first person at the park, practicing, running and working at his game that he already one of the best at. If he needs a day off, he needs a day off, case closed. You have know idea why he might need a day off, I'm assuming he needs to rest his legs, he's played 90 out of 95 games with sore hamstrings. He could probably really benefit from two days off, which in turn, benefits the team. I would like to see one of the best, if not the best hitter in the American League stay healthy for the entire season. One of the main reasons a team has a bench team is so the starters can get a rest. I understand that we were one short after Nixon's injury, but why not question why Francona didn't bring up another outfielder until Trot gets back. THE BOSTON MEDIA IS DESTROYING THE RED SOX! Fans need to think for themselves and not let these bastards that rely on controversy to warp their thoughts. SHAME ON ALL THE FANS THAT BOOED MANNY FRIDAY, YOU GAVE THE EVIL MEDIA WHAT THEY WANT. and as far as Manny not running out a few ground balls, get over it. this happens .01% of the time, not a bad percentage to deal with for a future Hall of Famer on your team. and if Theo thinks he can do something better with the 20 million a year, i think he is pompous, crazy, wrong and annoying.
