  1. Why do you always do this? Why? Why do you exclude the good to make the bad look worse, always always always. God its annoying. Disregarding your best pitcher who is a part of your bullpen, your bullpen isnt as good. Thats bush league. Stop doing that. Edit - but for a taste of your own annoying manipulation: Without seanez the sox bullpen is a solid 3.
  2. I want to ban someone. I hope he comes back. That would make my weekend.... I need a life. Whats it like stocker? Is it all its cracked up to be?
  3. You have you approach, I have mine. Difference of opinion. I see where you are coming from, but I think its a little bit closed minded. Oh well, you win some you lose some. Whats more important is what the hell is Roger Clemens doing right now and how can we sign him.
  4. When Manny Schilling Trot Lowell and Foulke are gone we have Pedroia, Lester, Papelbon, Hansen, Delcarmen and Wily Mo to look forward too. Just because guys will get old and move on doesn't justify moving a prospect. As a matter of fact, thats the reason for keeping a prospect. Not sure what your logic is there. Why are you desparate to win right now? Why do you think what we have in our system won't carry us down the road? It doesn't make sense to me that you always want to sell the farm for right now this second. Honestly, this is always your opinion and it drives me nuts because I can't figure it out. A rotation of Lester, Papelbon, Beckett and Bowden will be scary a couple years from now. Yes, I am including Bowden. I'm not one of those crazy fans who buys into every prospect but I am in love with Michael Bowden. He has crazy stuff and nice mound presence. This team has a lot of potential down the road. Granted, Dontrelle is a young guy, I just don't see him as an ace. I would rather sign a Clemens and keep my prospects. You're skewing the facts right now to try to make your point. Right now, Lester is on pace to crack the rotation next year. Willis is a good pitcher, and I understand he is 24, but I question his durability. I'd like to see this guy get another ace-like season in under his belt before I sell the farm for him. He has had terrible second halves two years in a row before last year. Unfortunetly we don't have time to wait around. I would vote no on this based on what I have seen of Dontrelle in the past. You on the other hand are itching to deal away young talent all the time, so I see why you would like this. To me Lester and Pedroia would be way too much. Think about it in terms you can grasp, if you had Pettitte and Eckstien, would you trade them along with a Manny Delcarmen for Dontrelle? When you put it like that, you're getting raped. Lester and Pedroia have that kind of potential. I'm not in any rush to send them anywhere for anybody. I'd like to have Willis in my rotation and you're right, he helps now and later but I think Lester has the potential to help more later than Dontrelle will. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be crying if this happened because he is a good pitcher, but I think we would need something else before we part with these prospects. If Hansen is involved I would absolutely hang up the phone. Lester is gettable considering that Dontrelle is coming back the other way, but I'm very leery about trading Pedroia.
  5. I hope Damon gets cheered.
  6. I am actually tempted to move this to crap. I'm getting bored of the same tired arguement over and over again.
  7. Well, you have to include Papelbon in the rotation plans for the future, but I do agree with you. But the Sox have Beckett for the next three years. He is only elligible for arbitration.
  8. This year isn't what the Sox are building for. Let me ask you this, would you trade Lester Hansen and Pedroia?
  9. But that isn't what its going to take. Trading away our farm system doesn't make sense.
  10. This sucks. Why would Alex Cora be in the two hole? I hate Terry Francona.
  11. Lol, its me too. I would not part with Lester or Hansen for Willis. I think anyone who would is nuts considering the kind of package you would need to include to go along with those two. No way. And about his Velocity. Lester was never 93-94. He has always hovered around 90mph and can crank it up to 93-94 sometimes a little faster. He hit 95 on 20 occasions last year according to my goofy stat book from baseball america. That isn't a lot. Lester used to always pitch 88-89 before last year and I'm sure it takes building up arm strength to get up to the 90's. Not to mention I'm sure they have him working on his velocity out of the stretch being around equal with his velocity out of the wind up. It wouldn't surprise me to see him taking a little off.

    Draft

Do you ever know what you are talking about? I'm sorry but I know nothing about football and I think I can safely say that the need at RB was much more than at WR. So you lost Givens? Its not like we lost a TO type of talent. Sure we need some DB's but there are athletic guys who can play the field deep in the draft every year and they have 3 picks left.
  14. The team doesn't look lost. The offense is quiet because we don't have a table setter and youk has been transplanted to the front of the order leaving the back end with too many holes. Harris/Mohr are no Coco. The pitching is fine, the defense is great, I don't care about run differential when you have the pieces this team does. When they start clicking - and they will - they will go on runs where they lose 3 out of 15 games. They need stability in the rotation to do that and they need coco back, but they can do it. This is a well put together team. It is a 'transition' team, but they might re-define transition by winning this year in a big way. I don't see Toronto being this good in August, I really don't. Troy Glaus is a career .250 hitter with 35 homer pop. A guy like that isn't going to anchor an entire lineup. The Yankees are scary, but again it will be neck and neck. As for Willis, I think every sox fan should be hoping we don't trade for him because the Marlins will get the better end of that deal. Especially with the kind of talent Willis has its very easy to over pay for pitching. Lester and Pedroia is way too much.

    Draft

I really wish i had the time to follow football like i do baseball. I love it like I do baseball. It seems to me like the Pats could wait a couple rounds on a WR just because they've got Branch and are deep at TE. To me, RB or Defense makes the most sense but you can find guys in rounds 2 and 3 who can play good defense and if a guy like Landale White or Williams is around I would go for them first.
  16. I really am not as down on the Sox as most of you. I don't get why everyone is ready to jump off of a building over this team.
  17. Doesn't matter. He has great raw tools as a pitcher and will definetly get a look this year if the bullpen falters. Hansen just isn't first in line. You don't bring a guy like Hansen up in a hurry because he needs to become more polished. Edgar is 24, he is experienced as a catcher so he knows how to pitch since he has been on the other end of it and he has an explosive fastball and slider. He has impressed in the minors and will get the call. Hansen needs to stay down because he is special. He has the chance to be a dominant pitcher so letting him work in and out of jams for awhile in AAA will help him out in the long run. Don't get too excited just because he is in AAA now, he had too much success in AA and really just wasn't allowing base runners. Now in AAA he should hit a couple bumps in the road every now and then and they will keep him there probably all year unless someone besides Seanez really blows up.
  18. family? creepy.
  19. They will try to keep him in the minors. Martinez and MDC will both get calls before Hansen. If Seanez can't hack it, Hansen is not the first guy in line for his spot.

    Draft

Anyone have a read on who the Pats might be able to grab? What side of the ball they will draft for?
  21. ksushi

    Draft

I would have figured he would go to Detroit but wow, that is a good fit.
  22. He might be in the pen sooner if someone is terrible and MDC and Martinez can't fill any holes but he probably will stay in the minors all year.
  23. Relax, they are pitch counting him and working him out in short inning stints. Don't sell out on him yet.
  24. Oh, touche. Reading error happens to everyone who has yet to graduate kindergarten. Its not my fault!
  25. What month is it? Percentage stats won't matter for a little while more. You're making some rather big convictions based on one month. Believe it or not there are still .140 more games. Who knew.
