  1. I am not bitching, I am trying to state my opinion on a topic. Just because my opinion differs from yours you can't consider it without cursing and writing people off? It's just sports talk, not a personal attack or anything.
  2. Alex Rodriguez comes to mind.
  3. He is lucky. He played for the Cardinals which is a team with some of the greatest baseball fans and for the Red Sox, which have a huge following. It must suck playing for the Rockies or something.
  4. All I say is ESoxPN and I open up a can of worms. I really do not think that some of you know what you are talking about, and your hardcore love of the Sox completely blinds you from seeing the overall, clear picture. This quote, in a nutshell, describes the entire mentality of ESPN and ESPN.com
  5. lol a nobody, until now.
  6. Escalona..who woulda thunk it?
  7. Leiter: 7 IP, 2 ER, all around good job. High pitch count, as usual.
  8. 5 batters to the plate, three successive singles, bases loaded no outs, and towers gets out of it with 6 pitches. go figure.
  9. 6 pitches and he gets out of it, yanks get only 1 run 2-1 canadians
  10. bases loaded for yanks, no outs
  11. Whatever, it's not like all the Red Sox are perfect angels. I know that you all like to jump all over Arod, jealousy is a very powerful emotion, but he is only human.
  12. clever taste of my own medicine, i see how it is stocker-yeah bc im sure that Arod has the rulebook memorized word for word. Honestly, if I was in his situation I'd have done the same thing. He at least showed heart, which is more than half the team can say.
  13. I just don't think it should be used against him like it is. I don't understand why you give him such grief. Sour because he isn't wearing a Boston uniform? Get over it. Seriously this guy is a treat to watch no matter what team he plays for.
  14. You guys know that if Manny did that same thing you would all accept it and just say, "Well, thats just Manny being Manny!!!"
  15. Can you please explain to me how that slap was any different than someone trying to mow down a catcher to make him lose the ball so that he is safe? Please, because I would really like to know.

  17. It might as well be called NESN2. Wow, so you can name two people on the entire network that have anything good to say about the Yankees. Puh-leeze Not to mention page 2 is dedicated to making the Yankees look like bad guys. I am not even going to dicuss this any further.
  18. YS- That's actually a very valid point. While I would LOVE seeing Mariano win the Cy Young, I know the chances are extremely slim. It's the same thing here. You guys see Ortiz everyday and hope he wins, but I just don't think you can label him a shoe in, esp when he doesn't lead in every category and cannot be considered an all-around player, like Mariano can. He takes the ball, throws the ball, and takes a shower. Does every aspect of pitching he needs to. Ortiz, on the other hand, can only hit, while there are plenty of other guys who can hit just as well but have much more to offer in other areas.
  19. That doesn't mean you can't have a discussion about it. And if a fan of a team can't recognize the talent of a player that doesn't wear their uniform of choice, he or she should seriously consider being a bit more open minding and giving credit where credit is due. Like I have said countless times, I love Ortiz and wish he was a FA at the end of the year so the Yanks could make a run at him, I just don't think a DH should win MVP.
  20. I'm not going to hold my breath on RJ. Whatever happens with him, happens. I have been really impressed with the rest of the rotation lately, and they couldn't have picked a better time to click. If any of those teams wins the Wild Card (you missed putting a certain team on that list) it is most likely going to be the Yankees. Wickman is great and is one of the biggest reasons Cleveland has a fighting chance, but I'm not sure they will do very much. The A's will be pesky but since the Yanks I believe have won most of the games against them this year I am hoping the Yanks will be able to gain ground in their next series together.
  21. You keep missing the i, and how is that so humorous? All he can do is hit. Not that I am putting him down, I'd take him ANYDAY on the Yanks.
  22. I've been to Fenway. Remember that game when Arod hit a blast off Schill that would later be the winning runs of the game? Forgot already? hah just kidding but yeah my experiences at Fenway haven't been bad considering that there are quite a large number of Yankees fans there too. I had the privelage once of sitting next to a man about 65 years old who was a Yankees fan and if anyone was cursing at us, I didn't hear because I was too busy watching the game and hearing him talk about guys like Mantle and Maris. Red Sox wouldn't be Red Sox without Fenway, the place is great and even though people don't like me being there wearing my number 13 jersey, I like the experience a lot.
  23. Ortiz won't win the MVP. If he does, then I blame ESoxPN for brainwashing everyone in the universe into Red Sox loving brainless twirps. There's no way someone who is so unidimensional should be able to win the MVP. IMO, there are others that deserve it way more than Ortiz does. As much as I hate seeing him come to bat, that's the only part of him that scares me. He isn't even the best in every category (such as homers and average) and won't be when the season ends. He may be a very good guy and he is a great hitter, but sorry Millah, Ortiz is no shoe in.
  24. I hope Robinson Cano was on that list of future stars.
