    wow i cant beleive i just wasted this much time reading this. i dont know if it was the fighting that caught my attention or the fact that all the people talking legal s*** wont budge no matter what. if i showed a picture of mcguire or sosa injecting themselves with steroids you still would say some ******** about it being photoshopped or something stupid like that. for the record. i would not be surprised if ortiz did take steroids at some time or another. the fact that he is my favorite player makes me hope that he hasnt. i wont be ignorant about that chance of it though. but until some reliable sources or facts are shown he is clean in my book. sosa, clemens, a-rod, mcguire did steroids and we all know it. fact or no fact. proof or no proof you know they did. this thread has gone about 8 pages too long. holy s***

    all i know is im glad the yankees dont seem to be in the running. i was reading a bill simmons article and he brought up that if somehow someway they landed manny, pitchers would have to face a-rod, Tex, and Manny in a row.

    also Dojji if you think sitting here posting on this website all day or cherring for the red sox is helping im sorry for you. dont get me wrong i love coming to this site because you can find the best news about the sox here but in no way is this helping. so dojji dont take this wrong but im sorry to tell you none of us are helping.

    Im not saying tex is a bad player at all. i think he is an all star player and i was scared to death of him in the playoffs, even though he choked against us with the rest of his team. i was just saying that i would rather not have him on our team. if you watch him play his is very subtle about how cocky he is. so in the end i just didnt want to end up cheering for him and im glad he is a yankee cuz i can hate him even more now. And in all honestly if everyone is gonna get scared about the yankees buying all the all star free agents obviously you guys havent watched how it just doesnt work. in the end im not scared of the yankees. big deal they got CC, Burnett, Tex whats freaking new im more concerned with a team that plays together as a team like the Rays.

    im with the FO on this decision with Penny. you guys can bitch and moan all you want but you have no idea what is going on with sheets or penny, and especially the FO. The sox FO has been known for making the decisions that in the long run make everyone who freaked out look stupid. So stop acting like The FO is dumb because we have 2 championships this decade, and came close to two others. also im glad we didnt get teixeira he is just a big a flamer as A-Rod.

    im not sold on zito at all. yeah he is a good picture but when you look at it would you ever feel safe in any way having zito against the yankees in a big game, i wouldn,t. Yeah becket wasnt good last year but ive seen becket come through in a big game, against the yankees nonetheless. and i mention playing the yankees cuz we know those are the most crucial games all year.

    i was watching that game it was an amazing ending. showing that duke still is the best. v tech fans were making fun of the cameron crazies but that shot shut them right up. GO DUKE

    overall i think trading Manny is retarded unless we get a good hitter and a sweet pitcher. BUt who knows where we could get that. Even if we did i still think the idea sucks.

    beltran has never hit over 30 Hr's and He has peaked 100 rbi's barely 4 times. So what if he had a sweet playoff. I do think Soriano would help but not enough. And like someone said earlier do you really want a devil ray trying to step it up when the game is on the line. Its our freaking pitching that we need to improve. Not our Batting.

    I not talking about clubhouse presence. If Manny's gone Ortiz starts getting pitched around alot more. Which lowers Ortiz's stats. so than were going to have to start hoping that any of those players you named to make up for not only manny's numbers but also ortiz's. And if you havent noticed singles arent getting ortiz from first to home. He needs someone with power. Its a miracle if ortiz goes from first to third.

    If were getting anyone on this list or who can even come close to it than i think we should consider it. But its not likely.

    you say some guys start falling apart by 33. Well i dont know if you have really followed Manny's career but he isnt just some guy since 1998 he has been hitting 30plus HR's and almost over 100 Rbi's every year. Find some other person that can do what manny does and than we can consider a trade. Beltran is nothing to Manny.

    are kidding me? manny is getting old? he's 33 and still had 45 HR's and 144's RBi's. Everyone has slumps. even your so called "high quality players" are going to go through slumps. Manny's presence in the lineup by ortiz and his numbers alone are better than any other players we could get. Besides Pujols or some other all star that we know we cant get.

    whats wrong with loving this new guy. i feel like he has done more in his short time on the sox than mark has done all year with them. I dont even feel as if we should give bellhorn another try but due to what he has been able to do in the past i would give him a couple more starts but thats it. pedroia gets a chance in my book before blowhorn.

    i also have been pushing for Millar all along. I dont think anyone on the sox can help pump up the team and push them as much as millar. Personally i believe he is bringing it around now. I say hold on to him
