  1. It's funny, I've never heard anyone do anything but complain about an award show regardless of what it's for whether it be the MTV Video Music Awards, the Oscars, the Grammys, the Emmys, the ESPYs, etc. Personally, award shows are something I have on while I'm doing something else because in your typical 3 hour award show, I'm interested in about 30 mins of what happens and I imagine most people are the same way. I don't think the vast majority of people can sit there, watch any award show in its entirety and come away entertained.
  2. Jon Heyman just insinuated on Twitter that Cox had problems with Escobar.
  3. I can honestly say I have no effing clue what the Braves are smoking. ALL signs point to Escobar having a strong second half with Gonzalez regressing. Not to mention the age difference. Wow....just wow.
  4. Lester is and was known as a quiet, reserved gamer. Hanley is and was known as a primadonna with attitude problems. I think the problem is and was obvious.
  5. What surprised me, and Buckley points this out, is that the answer came after such a clear cheese ball question. Lester is just fantastic.
  6. Jon Lester’s thoughts on Hanley Ramirez say a lot - Steve Buckley - Boston Herald Outstanding!
  7. I don't think that time should come after a .945 OPS season. I don't like his quote about not wanting to come back for one year. Obviously he'd like the security of a multi-year deal but he agreed to a contract which stipulates the Sox hold an option for the 2011 season. Considering he'll be 35, making $12.5 mil may not be such a bad thing.
  8. I'll always remember when the Sox won the ALCS in Yankee Stadium in '04, stadium workers wanted to turn the lights off but Steinbrenner ordered the lights to stay on as long as the Red Sox fans in the building and the players wanted to celebrate "because they earned it". Classy, classy move.
  9. I think his second-half will determine whether they pick up his option or let him walk but he definitely isn't getting an extension.
  10. So he doesn't have a heart cause he spent a lot of money to make his team good?
  11. Both the Associated Press and the NY Daily News are reporting that he has died.
  12. Several reports are saying he suffered a massive heart attack.
  13. Yankees owner George Steinbrenner has died
  14. Who really gives a s*** anyway? This team has been decimated enough to the point where every guy on the roster should welcome not having to have their season turn into a 163-game schedule.
  15. Really? It took this ordeal for you to realize that no one is untouchable? The only prospect in baseball who MAYBE is untouchable is Strasburg and even then, if St. Louis called up offering Pujols and Wainwright for example, Washington would consider it for sure.
  16. I don't foresee this team doing any of the wheeling and dealing we've seen them do at recent trade deadlines besides maybe a bullpen arm or two. I think the way they see it, as guys start to come back from their injuries, that'll be their deadline acquisitions.
  17. Garza does usually stick it to us but we lit him up pretty good last time so who knows
  18. Considering I'm Argentinian.....Argentina
  19. It's funny, the 5 South American teams might be the most entertaining to watch too although you'd have to throw Germany in there too.
  20. Buchholz injured on the basepaths, out of the game
  21. Uruguay is no Brazil, it should be a close game.
  22. Sure...if the cap hit for both players was even close to similar. You don't think the Hawks FO would've rather dumped Brouwer? It's the reality of the salary cap world, especially for the Hawks who were really walking a fine line. Toews' $1.3 million bonus against the cap for next season for winning the Conn Smythe didn't help either.
  23. He can't play in the Portugal game but it doesn't matter to the Brazilians, they're already through.
  24. Just wanted to point out that the Ivory Coast's goalkeeper is named Boubacar Barry and how awesome that is.
