  1. I think we heard this before : http://www.talksox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6504
  2. I'd really like to know which one of you Theo sat down with and gave an inside track to. Hey here's why I made all my moves and where I want to be in 3 or 4 years. You try and field a competitive team and build your farm system up. The days of consecutive WS are pretty much over. How many WS for the Yanks this century ?
  3. Try transition year. I doubt you've been around to see either.
  4. You realized today. Where have you been the last two years. Oh, I want your contacts. Tell me where you can get decent seats of $ 50 per seat. Not a prayer in hell. Not to mention ticket sales and concession sales are shared under the MLB contract.
  5. Detroit Breakdown, A Motor City Shakedown..... ... J. Geils Band
  6. I think that is what most of the guys are saying. Move him while they still have the rights, since he's indicated he want sign an extension.
  7. Let me see, you search back to a comment that I made to a fellow League member 3 months ago, quote it out context, make make a Jr. high level sexual innuendo. Wow, not original or witty. You're not even in this League.
  8. I'm getting tired of your unless posts and misquotes. This was a total misquote, not to mention you're not in this league ( nor will you ever be ) it's a Talksox League and an appropriate thread for that league. I'm going to vote with vote with One Red Seat to get you out of here.
  9. No your right. Let's boo them at every opportunity, that way they'll feel welcome at home. I doubt if you were around 10 years ago.
  10. True fans will give them a rousing cheer, indicating that they're behind them through the good and bad. It would take 2-3 years of major disappointments before you see a non-sellout.
  11. Welcome aboard. I'm a member at Patsfans also. I think you'll like it here.
  12. I'd just like to point out, that the Players Association would fight any attempt at a cap.
  13. Just for conjecture, I'm wondering what the effect that Tek not calling the games has had ? Especially with regard to the younger players.
  14. Based on all your vast experience, you have the inside track on the requirements for being a GM. I think not.
  15. We agree on the Sox and Yanks. As far as the Skins go, I'll give you a little advice, you can't borrow your way out of debt. You can restructure all you want, but the debt is still there.
  16. I was taking about under a salary cap ( as I stated ). Also, you math and numbers are wrong. But who really cares, you're comparing apples and oranges, while talking about choice meats.
  17. Good to have you here. You might want to start a new thread in this forum telling us a little about yourself, so that we can get to know you a little better. I look forward to seeing your posts.
  18. Chill a little. Ahhchon didn't say he expects to take over a GM spot soon. What he stated was that he has demonstrated some of the abilities that a GM would need. Meaning that Fantasy Leagues are basically a simulation tool or model to practice in. The more competitive the league the better the experience. When people are competing with their own money, they tend to very competitive. Take the military as an example. They don't take some new recruit ( academy graduate even ), in stick him inside a $ 100 million piece of equipment. They establish base line requirements both physical and mental, then educational training on the equipment, and then many hours of traning on a SIMULATOR before they get a chance a the real thing. The key point here is that Ahhchon has consistently demonstrated a progressive development of his baseball knowledge and abilities. He's also consistently contributed some of the more knowledgeable on the site. So back off.
  19. Although I concede that the Yanks, Sox, and a few other large market teams will still find a way to dominate in a cap environment, bringing the NFL, more specifically the Redskins is a bad choice. They have implemented the Forty Niners financial playbook meaning mortgaging the future. It killed the Niners for years ( and still will ), the Skins are just starting to feel the repercussions. The Yanks and Sox are too smart for that.
  20. Not to mention, that the Yankees have exceeded the luxury tax since its existence.
  21. Nice quote. Now we all know who you're responding to and what.
  22. I thought he was traded by the Mets ?
  23. First chill out. I was responding and directing my comments to a700 Hitter ( as indicated by the quote ).Don't even try to give me extentions of logic. Because, that would mean that the bullpen can be changed at any time ( meaning day to day ), so starters could be moved to the bullpen and bullpen guys can be moved to be starters. Obviously, this wouldn't work. I believe if you do your research, there was a definate pattern for the Pirates in the one year they won.... "WE are Family" year.
  24. A large portion of your respones and posts are based on passion and hatred for other teams. While passion is a a good thing, at times it shpold be tempered with reason. BTW, this has nothing to do with the thread. " Bullpen by Commitee " it hasn't and never will exist. It was "Closer by Commitee" . So, anyone responding to the title is full of it, and anyone else responding to off track comments is too. As for me, I'm a lost navigator, who lost his way and has diarrhea, therefore I can't be full of it.
