  1. Well, that contributes nothing. But, If you want to live in fantasy land, log in to Redsox.com. They will spin this trade a bunch of different ways to make you feel better about it!
  2. Or you could ignore the 12 year slide in attendance figures. You could also ignore than fact that this years World Series games had less viewers than an average regular season NFL game. Your choice.
  3. You should kiss Chaim Blooms ass when they don't sign Puig.
  4. We were never going to sign him, because they were never willing to pay him as the second best player in baseball. The negotiations were insulting, and we insulted him multiple times. Talk is cheap. Unfortunately, all that matters is the money. Greedy owners and greedy players are slowly murdering professional baseball. Its dying a slow, brutal death. Death by a million papercuts (literally, from the dollars).
  5. He agreed to the original s*** sandwich that put them in this mess to begin with. Reports came out that the only reason it wasn't accepted was because the owners stepped in due to negative publicity. Thank him? Ok, sure.....thank you for trading the second best played in baseball.
  6. Good luck finding another GM that wants to deal with our clown show front office after this debacle.
  7. Chavis was exposed. He is worthless. Still can't believe we couldn't find a way to keep Betts here. The luxury tax isn't a secret, and he was coming to the end of his deal. Every time they negotiated with him, they low-balled him by 100M. We'd rather keep throwing money at JBJ and overpaying for the Eovaldi's of the world.
  8. Sale is throwing WAYYYYYY too hard to say hes past his prime. His delivery is very quirky. He needs to figure out what hes doing wrong with his mechanics.
  9. no reason to pinch hit Travis for Holt. Stupid managing.
  10. Moonslav, We all appreciate all the research you do, however, none of it matters. The pen has been brutal, by any measure. The SP is partly to blame, but they have been awful.........almost all year.
  11. I like the trade. Solidifies the starting rotation, keeps Wright in the pen and Eovaldi will close.
  12. The scary thing about Devers is his approach at the plate and his monster power to the opposite field.
  13. Agreed. I think Eovaldi will be fine as a closer. If nothing else, we can hear him grunting while throwing 102 MPH.
  14. This.....and this.
  15. The last time I enjoyed the all star game was 99 in Fenway. The last Home Run Derby I enjoyed was the one that Josh Hamilton hit like 35 HR.
  16. Yes, yes it is. Barnes is struggling to get outs in the 7th and 8th. No way do I want him anywhere near a pressure situation.
  17. Ive been beating this drum all year. I stated that their results do not indicate the talent level. I was crucified for it, but I was right. Matt Barnes is fine in his role, as a 6th inning reliever. Anything more is asking too much. His numbers were above average at one point, and his stuff is above average, but he is not an above average reliever. Now his numbers are below average. He is somewhere in the middle, regardless of his above average stuff. He just doesn’t come through enough. But, this is not a “I told you so”. I like Barnes. I love the redsox, but their bullpen is missing 3 MAJOR pieces. A closer, a setup man and a reliable lefty. Championship teams have those 3 pieces.
  18. the good about him, is that he is a spare part at this point. I think he gives you more than anyone else. Run him into the ground. Again, it doesn’t really matter if he breaks down, he’s not allowed to be on the postseason roster anyways bc if his suspension.
  19. Strawman, classic sign of a lost argument.
  20. wow, the excuses are incredible. Good pitchers get good hitters out. It’s that simple. He was a nice little story earlier this year, but he’s been terrible and his numbers are starting to reflect it. Barnes is a very effective pitcher when used in non pressure situations.
  21. I understand the hate towards Wright, but I would immediately make him the #5 starter. He’s better than the other options and Eovaldi will help this team out of the bullpen, where our weakness is greatest. Remember, he is not on the postseason roster, which is perfect, since teams don’t carry 5 starters anyways.
  22. I’ve been fighting with people all year about it. They truly are brutal. Barnes has fallen back to his middle-of-the road self. Actually, he may be worse than his normal self, lately anyways.
  23. You need to factor in that we really haven't had a real #5 SP all year, so that really effects those numbers. Velasquez, Weber, Johnson and Smith have all been brutally terrible filling in. I thought you had me on ignore!!!
