    In my perfect world, they are subtracting Price regardless. Also, I don't expect much from Eovaldi, so that 17M in my opinion, is a complete waste. When you look at it that way.....what team is better? The team WITH Betts and without Price, JBJ, Eovaldi and Perez........... or The team WITHOUT Betts, Price and with Eovaldi, JBJ and Perez. Either way, they have no pitching. One scenario is with Betts and average/below average pitching. The other is without Betts and average/below average pitching.

    I remember the Carl Everett days well. That was right in my wheelhouse in terms of time period when I loved the Sox the most. Not sure why you would compare anyone to him. He had 1 great half season.......and the rest was a miserable experience due to his knees, poor CF defense and s***** attitude. He also didn't believe in NASA and dinosaurs. A real crazy.

    JBJ 11M Eovaldi 17M M. Bradley 5.5M David Price 32M They had the opportunity to address this 2 to 3 years ago. They found a suiter for Price this year, they could have found one 1 or 2 years ago. Its not like anyone around here wanted him around anyway.

    Redsox still have one of the highest payrolls in the game. Redsox still have the highest ticket price in the game. Losing for any reason, is not good enough. Also, why are you certain they will win after the luxury tax dump? They got into this mess because they made a lot of terrible decisions over the past 5 years.

    Yup, I pretty much said that already. Not true. They were reported to be 100 million apart. Name one Dodger EVER to be in line for this type of payday. You can't, these contracts are unprecedented. Yup. But he also JUST said that he wanted to stay in Boston. So which one is it? Either way, he is not coming back, reset or not.

    They were never willing to pay him the second highest salary in baseball when they had his rights, but now that hes gone, they would be willing to pay him the second highest salary in baseball? They traded him to the Dodgers, a team more than willing to pay those types of salaries regardless of luxury tax. He is not coming back.
