  1. Exactly
  2. I think Shoppach would be one guy the Phils WOULD really want, since we have no catching prospecs. But he is only a B-level prospect and we'd obviously want one of your A-level pitching prospects as well. From what you say, that might price the Sox out.
  3. No way - he's one of our few bright spots this year. He's been lights out since they moved him into the rotation. The Phils need to rebuild around our young players like Tejada. Are you going to ask for Chase Utley next?
  4. The Phils aren't selling, which is unfortunate because they should be. I actually think the fans would love to see Wagner traded, as long as slick Eddy Wade could get a good deal in return (which is unlikely). Most fans are in my camp, which thinks the Phils are done and need to totally rebuild. I think they could put together a deal without Youkilis, if that's a deal killer, but then it'd have to include Lester or Papelbon. I don't know much about Declarmen or Alvarez (tell me about them please) but a package of Shoppach, Declarmen and Alvarez seems to be lacking an A-list prospect.
  5. I don't think the Phils would have any interest in either Embree or Foulke. At least I wouldn't, as make-believe GM. I think it'd take at least Shoppach and one of Youkilis, Papelbon or Lester, maybe more. He's a top closer who we gave up 3 good young players for. If you guys wouldn't give that up for him I'd understand but that would mean no deal is really possible.
  6. I thought Sox fans were more intelligent than this. I guess I should lump you guys in with Mets and Yankees fans, huh?
  7. Hey all, greetings from a long suffering Phillies fan. This isn't meant to start any rumors. Unfortunately our bonehead GM Ed Wade still considers our team to be buyers and not sellers at this point so it's unlikely he will be looking to trage Wagner any time soon. That being said, if he had a competent GM and were looking to trade him, would you guys be interseted in getting him. And, if so, what would you be willing to give up? You're obviously desperate for a closer if you're talking about wasting Schilling in that role (can we please have him back?). The Phils really need a young catcher and 3B, along with (of course) young pitching. So Shoppach, Youkilis, Papelbon and Lester are some of the names we'd be interested in. So I'm playing Phillies' GM. Make me an offer!
