  1. Huge. Ty Law is Manning's worst nightmare in the playoffs.
  2. I don't think the screen is a good option at this point. Good discipline by the D line on their assignments.
  3. Two 3-and-outs in a row for KC. That is a recipe for disaster against the Colts. Green needs to start making some plays to keep their offense off the field and keep the D honest.
  4. Looked for a second there like Indy was going to march right down field. Wasted time-out.
  5. Indy vs. KC in 13 mins. Indy's run D vs. LJ makes it a tight game, but Peyton moves on to the second round, IMO. "Cut that MEAT, Cut that MEAT!"
  6. Kickoff in 0:15, can Indy stop LJ? I think the Colts will win, but the KC running game will make it close. EDIT: What the heck, the playoff games deserve a fresh thread.....Playoff Game Thread
  7. Personally, I think Sickel's way of ranking prospects is the right way to go about it. I think ceiling is completely dependent on talent and physical prowess, and it is what everyone is interested in ultimately. The fact that someone else is "closer" to the majors means little to me. All it proves is they have accomplished being born earlier, or, in other words, their "closer" has little to do with talent.
  8. Rician said they are trying to get enough depth to figure it out on the run, which is what happened in '03. Wouldn't it have been a lot easier to just say, "I agree"? I mean, that is what you did in the part in bold. You like to f***ing pontificate about meaningless s*** so much that you don't even know when you prove someone else's point.
  9. Look at Beckett's MiLB stats and dig up the old prospect rankings/scouting reports. You will find strong similarities. I don't care who the prospect is, if you can get the best pitcher in all of baseball two years before he turns 30, you do it. Bar none.
  10. Of course, that analysis is all wrong. In fact, the only thing relevant about Jacko's analysis is the first 4 letters, a.n.a.l., because that is where it comes from, straight from his ass. Hansen's odd delivery can be attributed to how low he drops his elbow prior to release. Elbow injury has always been the concern, not should injury, which is what would occur in Jacko's scenario.
  11. You don't watch the games, do you? Hansen and MDC were both used in 6th/7th inning situations last year prior to getting the set-up spot. Both looked good in the lower pressure spots early in the year, and when Timlin went down, along with Tavarez and Seanez being unreliable, Tito went to the people performing at the time. This is exactly the scenario you claim should have happened. Don't chime in with your inanities when they don't match reality.
  12. It appears NY not only has a teflon SS, but it also has a teflon GM. Every bad move gets pinned on Tampa, every successful one goes on the ledger for $$man. I think we, as Sox fans, should do the same thing. Lucchino can be the fall guy. Thoughts?
  13. How do you know you aren't going to be relying on Bruney to set up? Look at Farnsworthless' career stats. If you charted his ERA on a time graph it would look like a sine wave. Proctor goes from suck to solid overnight at age 29. That is my point. Outside of guys like Mo and Hoffman, you never know who's going to be good or bad from year to year. All of these guys, Sox and Yanks, aside from Rivera, are a crapshoot. Now, I'm not suggesting you shouldn't be confident about your 'pen, but at least be consistent. Apply the same filter where you ignore the inconsistency and recognize only the good for the Yankee relievers to the Sox 'pen, and it won't look as bad as you claim it does. And, sure, yours looks better, but it's mostly because of Rivera. That said, I'll take our starting 5 w/o a known closer over your 4, well more like 3, and a shutdown closer (speaking of which, we had 3 and the best closer in baseball last year - which was a resounding success [/sarcasm]).
  14. Here Jacko, these ought to make things a little easier.... http://www.avca.org/camp/kneepads.jpg
  15. Date & Time Favorite ............. Spread ................ Underdog 1/6 4:30 ET At Indianapolis .......... -6.5 ...................... Kansas City 1/6 8:00 ET At Seattle .................. -3 ............................... Dallas 1/7 1:00 ET At New England ......... -9 .............................. 16. I could live with a top-4 playoff, but I'd prefer a top-8. They can go with how they currently select the BCS 8 (6 conference winners from the SEC, Big-10, Pac-10, Big East, ACC, and Big-12 plus two at large bids). The 8 that make a BCS game every year are pretty much always deserving. I would like to see the other big-6 power conferences go to a system like the SEC, ACC, and Big-12 have, with a conference championship game each year.
  17. I don't like the idea of moving any young pitching prospects for Cordero. I think he's vastly overrated and would tank hard in the AL East.
  18. BCS all the way. On another note, I'm in favor of the World Series participants being determined by Rochambeau. Seriously, how can anyone not pick Playoff. If the importance of bowl games is a concern, then have the bowl games be part of the playoff. They can do it on a rotation like they do now with the BCS Championship game.
  19. Yeah, but I didn't pick them up because they are good. The Raider offense is bad enough that picking up their opponent's D is a smart move no matter who it is.
  20. I would like to say thank you to Stephen Jackson for having his game of the season during the Talksox FFB Super Bowl this week. However, Zach has L.T. so I'm not out of the woods.
  21. .....then take the Red-Eye flight to LA and give Lowe a wedgie.
