  1. Aside from the opening kickoff, the Gators are dominating this football game. And, Ginn Jr. is in the locker room right now. Other than him, Ohio State looks like they are playing with 5 lb weights on each leg.

  3. Brian Westbrook is hell on wells in the open field.
  4. Bitter beer face?
  5. Make it 0-fer for me. I'll be utilizing the optional second week.
  6. Heads up play by Wilfork.
  7. 4th and 3 at the 36? Go for it territory? I would.
  8. Stupid penalty. They would have had 3rd and long. Freebies can kill you. Ouch, Pennington got whacked.
  9. Pats O: Hot, sharp knife Jets D: Warm butter 7-0
  10. Everyone thinks Wang is due for some regression because, typically, pitchers good at generating weak contact are also good at missing bats. Wang doesn't miss bats, and he doesn't generate the weak contact that so many Yankee fans claim he does. His BABIP was right about league average, and BABIP is essentially a gauge of how hard the ball is getting hit. I watched more than 1/2 his starts last year, and he seemed to benefit a whole lot from the ball being hit right at a fielder. When someone was on base, these resulted in a high amount of double-plays (which aren't happening if the ball is hit weakly). His xFIP was 4.35, which is where I would expect him to pitch going forward. A low 4 ERA is good in the ALE, so he'll be a serviceable middle of the rotation pitcher. Good, but not remarkable. Oh, and, he doesn't have the best sinker in baseball. Brandon Webb does. I also question how much of his success is due to his sinker and how much is due to the Yankee grounds crew. ERA of 3.03 vs. 4.35 and G/F ratios of 3.27 vs. 2.41 at home and away. With the range on display in that IF, I think the grass is allowed to grow a bit. There's nothing wrong with that, but it is a factor to consider when rating Wang's talent.
  11. I love the internet.
  12. Well, if none of you find the second game interesting, you can at least check out Drew Bledsoe's running blog of the action. tonyhomo.com
  13. Given the way the Colts run-D played prior to this game, the way LJ was going for KC, and the spread, it wasn't an off the wall pick. I doubt most of the people who picked them were picking an outright win. I know I wasn't, but given those variables, it's reasonable to assume KC would grind down the clock and keep the O off the field. Too bad Green and his targets sucked like a 5$ ho all game.
  14. Jacko, did you ever play football as a DB, because you back pedal quite well. Prospects with one plus pitch and unremarkable secondary pitches are thought of as having one pitch, and I've seen you say as much about non-Yankee prospects. Care to reconcile those comments? For what it's worth, I've seen quotes from Pettitte's father that the Yankees "signed a guy with a sore elbow". It's still a question mark. Doesn't matter how many times you say it, and at this point, I think you need to say so often to convince yourself, other than Rivera there are no consistent performers in either 'pen. Given the number of quality arms that are options for both squads, they'll have enough of them on an "on" year to be successful. Some of the Yankee guys you are touting will disappoint while some of the Sox guys you dismiss will surprise. Book it. Such is the nature of relief pitching.
  15. Pretty sure he means "trump". A tump, per online dictionaries, is a small hill or mound of earth. Don't be had SFoC.
  16. Still no first downs for the Chefs. Great googilly-moogilly.
  17. Boink! f***ing comical.
