  1. They won't bump Beckett and throw Tavarez, they'll just bump Beckett back. Just checked it, and now Beckett is shown as tomorrow's starter.
  2. Today's game is postponed.
  3. I saw it the other way around. Tek scalded two balls that didn't go in the books as hits. The Mathews error and the rope Isturis caught. I'm encouraged by the signs with Tek. Coco, not so much.
  4. This list is rife with inconsistency. I can understand Young, Clemens, and Ryan for their staggering career numbers, but Koufax and Feller don't fit in if that is the criteria. Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, Warren Spahn, and Greg Maddux would be better fits. Now, if we are talking about the 5 best pitchers when they were at the top of their game in terms of dominance, then this is who I want: 1. Pedro, Pedro, Pedro, always Pedro 2. Greg Maddux - only one pitcher has two of the top-5 all-time ERA+ years, and surprisingly it's him 3. Walter Johnson 4. Roger Clemens 5. Sandy Koufax Close but no cigar: Randy Johnson, Lefty Grove, Bob Gibson
  5. Dude, let it hit you in the shoulder.
  6. Seriously. I thought the A's were a moneyball team. The only thing money about Dinardo is that his name bears resemblance to dinero.
  7. Didn't Chavez take Farnsworthless deep last night?
  8. Farnsworth? I love it. And a leadoff hit. Good stuff.
  9. Nice. Now score.
  10. Dinardo warming. Better get out of this and score some runs.
  11. Wow, Crosby s*** the bed there.
  12. Street's change up is silly.
  13. And then Abreu gets caught going on a pick-off.
  14. With a WHIFF. There's our boy.
  15. Four. I really question leaving Embree in to face ARod in a 3-3 game with a runner on.
  16. Blanton's hitting the wall against the weak end of the lineup. Cano and Phelps both reach, then Melky spins a late swing for an opposite field single. 3-2 after 5, and this comes after Blanton faced the minimum through 4 (with 1-hit and a DP).
  17. ARod with #7. Get 'em all out of your system now, Slappy.
  18. Cano-no strikes.
  19. I think a catchall thread should suffice. April 14 vs Oakland Blanton vs. Rasner 1-0 A's, bottom 1, 2 down, 1st and 2nd.......check that 2-0, 2nd and 3rd Rasner is giving up lasers, E-6 already, good times, discuss.
  20. 3 SB, 0 CS
  21. Crespo, the int'l revenues are like the revenues here. Broadcasting rights and merchandise to go MLB and are split 30 ways. Now, that isn't to say there aren't opportunities. If Boston had two Japanese mega-stars there are all sorts of corporate partnerships, in park advertising and product placement, and non-baseball programming on NESN opportunities. I think this year they released less tickets to the public and set some aside for Red Sox Travel that they sell in Japan. They don't get any more money out of the tickets, but the travel agency service does. It's not mega money, but it all adds up.
  22. I'd gleefully trade Ellsbury, Buchholz, Bowden, Bard, Anderson, and Place for Miguel Cabrera. I don't mind moving him for a legit young stud like that.
  23. DH vs. Binghamton today Game 1: 1-4, 1 2B (6 on the year) Game 2: 1-4, 1 R, 1 SB (3 on the year)
