  1. here's what I've heard... Wednesday morning at Fenway for a Schilling statue ("the bobble ankle") to benefit ALS research. sounds quite cool; we'll see how it looks
  2. saw on a link on a site for 'the ankle is coming' and it sent me to bobbleankle.com... anyone know anything? figure it has something to do with Schill also, apparently O's (among others) are interested in Helton, and well they should be with how Gibbons/Palmeiro have been playing... Hinske's name has been floated out there, too, but if not for the enormous contract it'd be close to a guarantee that Helton's going somewhere this year
  3. On the one hand: a win's a win and both Sox and Yanks were at home against division foes On the other hand: man, it's the D-Rays! And Jaret Wright goes five innings and gives up 8 ER. Today Randy Johnson faces Hideo Nomo in another one that the Yanks should be embarrassed if it's close. Then again, saw what happened with the Orioles, who should be beating up on Detroit at home and instead threw batting practice yesterday. Nice of Tampa to allow A-Rod to bulk up his stats to the point that they'll once again look great at the end of the year.
  4. 118 pitches in his second start is worrisome, but if that simply comes from being a strikeout pitcher and trying to make the exact pitch in each situation. At this point with any other guy, I'd say it was too much too soon in an April game that was in the bag... but I trust in Schill. In his next start, 6-7 IP and 4 runs would still be all right with me. He doesn't have to be perfect right away, he just has to stay healthy.
  5. Hey, after reading all the posts for a while and enjoying myself, figured why not log in just in case I ever wanted to take part. Calling cards: feet firmly in the ground, sense of humor, sense of history, detest Steinbrenner more than any Yankee who ever wore the jersey. Smart man to put out something "motivational" right before a two game home set against the D-Rays. Way to go, Georgie!
