  1. Yeah its just the way he said "sleeping over his house 5 days a week" that sounds akward. If he just said hanging out 5 days a week no one would have thought it was odd.
  2. You mean you guys don't have sleep overs 5 days a week with your close guy friends?
  3. Can we change the thread title to "Manny is arriving on the date he is required"? Under the CBA Manny has to be there by March 1. He is going to be there on March 1. So because he doesn't show up for the voluntary date then he's arriving late? People need to get a grip.
  4. Were you there to know this? Condom's aren't 100% effective. She also might have been on BC so they may not have been using one. Either way I'll just go back to thinking about Gisele
  5. Absolutely, Bosh is a great player. Oden and Duncan remind me more of the old school C's while Bosh, Amare, Howard are more athletic and not quite as big. All are great players though and I would take any of them. Durant is a great player as well and as long as the C's get either of them I will be pumped.
  6. I said that neither will ever have the overall stat line for a season that Duncan has. That is 25 ppg, 13 rpg, 3 bpg, 4 apg. I've already said that Amare can score like Duncan and that Howard can rebound like Duncan. Neither is anywhere close to those numbers though. Amare is averaging 1 apg and 1 bpg for his career. Duncan has been on the All NBA Defensive team every year he's been in the pros. Let me know when Amare has his first okay. I'm talking about all around game, Duncan is a better defensive player. Oh and about Amare being with a good rebounder in Marion, Duncan had David Robinson (pretty good rebounder) for the start of his career and was still averaging 12 rpg from the start. Amare needs to hit double digits in average rpg before he's even in the discussion.
  7. I said before that Amare could score like Duncan but not rebound or defend as well. Duncan had a season where he was 25.5 ppg and 13 rpg. Amare has never even cracked 10 rpg in a season. Duncan has never averaged less than 2 blocks a game for a season while Amare has never once averaged 2 blocks a game. Also, Duncans lowest apg is double Amare's highest apg for a season. Duncan has also been on the all NBA 1st or 2nd defensive team every year he's been in the league and is a two time MVP. The fact that you say you wouldn't even take Duncan shows that your incredibly biased anyways so theres no point talking about this anymore. BTW Duncan was averaging 21/12 his first year, he didn't blossum into averaging a double double.
  8. Sure, but Wang had a lower WHIP and higher ERA in year 1. A lot has to do with luck as well. If more groundballs find holes then the ERA jumps. Lowe also has a higher K rate than Wang.
  9. They're both good and getting better but neither of them are Tim Duncan and thats who the last great big man was. Duncan has average 22 pts 12 rb and over 2 blcks per game for his career. Neither of them will have those numbers. Amare can score but doesn't play the D that Duncan does. Howard can board like Duncan but can't score as much. When Oden comes into the league he is going to already be one of the top defensive C in the league immediately. Oden is the best all around big man since Duncan. Both Amare and Howard are big men in the mold of KG because they are more athletic than a traditional big man. Theres a lot to be said for that but IMO they aren't as good of all around players as Duncan.

  11. Don't forget that the Yankees have Hughes waiting in the wings. I wouldn't be surprised to see him called up midseason after Pavano injures himself getting out of bed. Hughes has the potential to be one of the best pitchers in baseball one day.
  12. Hey NY took Damon so its our turn to steal someone. Honestly though I don't see Mo leaving NY but if he does hit FA the Sox need to make an offer. I don't even think he would accept an offer with Boston based on principle but at least make the Yanks pay extra to keep him. Quid pro quo.
  13. Manny hit a HR to LF that was "officially" measured at 501 ft (just short of Ted's 502 ft record) even though it was probably further.
  14. Glenn Robinson dominated the college game, went #1 and never lived up to the hype. Theres a difference between college and pros. I think Durant will be a superstar but so will Oden. Oden #1, Durant #2. You just don't have a chance at a big man like that more than once a decade.
  15. True but I don't know how they were received as reigning MVP winners. You could be right though. Still AROD seems to take a lot of heat in NY even though he puts up monster numbers. Yes they are during the regular season but you still need to win those games to get to the postseason.
  16. Unless he signs with Boston and wins a WS
  17. I believe the All Star team goes over to Japan right after the world series. You can say its out of season but he still faced MLB all stars which is more than most pitchers ever face. God knows every Yankee fan sees Hughes as being dominant from day 1 and he has never even faced close to the competition that Matsuzaka has faced. (Not saying you in particular but more of a general observation, I have no idea how you think of Hughes) We won't know until the season is underway but IMO Matsuzaka is going to have a really good season.
  18. He pitched against the MLB all star team and did just fine. He also was the MVP of the international tournament last year when he pitched against the top players from each country. He's got the stuff to be a top 15 pitcher in baseball from day 1. He will obviously have games where he struggles but he will also have great games and should be a lock for around 18 wins with the Sox offense.
  19. In terms of the Sox, I would like to see them go after some SS prospects if possible with their picks. I know that you don't draft looking for a certain position but there seems to be a real need for SS prospects within the org since Hanley was traded.
  20. This is the dumbest f***ing thread BTW. I like both signings so how about an third option that says "Go f*** Yourself, they're both good"?
  21. What exactly has MDC done that makes him better than Hansen? They both had bad numbesr in MLB last year (MDC 5 ERA, Hansen 6.5 ERA) but Hansen had amazing numbers in the minors at every level and is younger. Hansen has a career 1.8 ERA in the minors. MDC isn't nearly as good of a prospect as Hansen.
