  1. i'm curious...what happens if schilling was on steroids? (this is PURELY hypothetical, but at this point i put it past no one) would that change your (im talking to everyone here) opinion on him? would that affect the way u view this last season? just wondering, i'd really like to hear what u guys have to say about this
  2. yay! now i can cut socks into my grass at home!!!
  3. one thing i gotta say, i hate the sox, but man i love the red sox cut into the grass. thats just awesome
  4. i dont like manny but i gotta say that cover looks hot! lol
  5. great pitcher, not a HOF pitcher imo but still great. do i like schilling the person? not particularly. i didnt like the outspoken support for george w. particularly b/c it came right after they won the WS i believe (or was it the ALCS?) btw, i dont particularly care for celebrities spouting their political opinions--whether they're liberals or conservatives. then again...i could have probably ended that previous sentence at the word celebrities, go figure :dunno: i get tired of hearing from curt schilling every time i turn around. STFU already...in fact, all of you players just STFU...all ur doing is playing into the media's crap and thats sickening. that said, i dont have a problem with curt being as outspoken as possible about his charity work with ALS. i think it's a noble cause and while some ppl (some yankee fans i've encountered) see his talking about his charity work as a "look at me, look at what a good person i am" i see it as his using his fame to try to get other people to support this, which i think is fine (yes what that means is i have a problem with celebrities using their status to put forth their political ideas but not their charity work)
  6. nahhh i think there are ppl who are waaaaay bigger *******s (see: barry bonds) i love sheffield...LOVE HIM nevertheless, i still wish he hadnt made that comment about the red sox being characters, not winners or w/e the comment was :thumbdown
  7. the quote from espn goes like this: "People are going to put a spin on whatever they're going to put a spin on. ... I'm not like Jason Giambi, I'm not going to sit here and cry about things being unfair or attacks are unfair." now...personally i think the way its written here changes the meaning somewhat or at least make his words more questionable. in this particular case he could be saying that he's not like jason in that he didnt knowingly use steroids (a story i dont personally believe but bear with me) plus he's not gonna sit around and cry about things being unfair etc... i think it's possible that his words are being twisted...idk which quote s correct but i gotta tell ya, i dont believe ANYTHING that the post has to say. any newspaper being sold for a friggen quarter cannot be all that reputable
  8. eh...i doubt it...that'd be too much fun lol
  9. um i wasnt aware that tino had sub par defense but admittedly i havent watched the dude play in a while. u dont see us winning 100+ games huh? we did it with sub par pitching... im not sure why defense would hold us back
  10. Johnny Damon...he seems nice
  11. hey--i think many yankee fans are fickle; they dont give many players much of a chance. however, i think u need to realize that javi would still be ripped by yankee fans even if he were still on the team. this isnt one of those instances where yankee fans are dissin' on him b/c he's moved to another team....they'd still be dissin' on his ass if he were on our team
  12. of course b/c he SUCKED after the all-star break...he did very well (i wouldnt say second coming pedro tho) in the first half. most yankee fans were happy to see him gone b/c of how badly he sucked in the second half.
  13. u could not be more wrong. most yankee fans cant stand this guy (there are a few who still have high hopes for javi). thank u for playing tho
  14. i think javi has a lot of talent...that being said...i cant really blame yanks in 2010 for saying it would be a HR derby for us. he might be a yankee killer but i really dont know where anyone would get that from w/out first seeing him pitch against the yankees. at least from last year, signs point to him being trampled on by the yankees. but who knows? :dunno:
  15. well for one those yankee fans at YES will jump on anyone for breathing wrong. but i know for a while, the only red sox fans who used to come by used to come simply to trash the yankees. they'd have no real arguments or evidence they'd just come and say things like yankees suck, mo sucks, jeter sucks, sheff sucks, arod sucks...i think u get the picture lol. so a lot of ppl of at YES dont want to give any more sox fans a chance b/c of past transgressions. plus, unfortunately, a lot of ppl at YES are just plain stupid.
