  1. Yep. That surprises me too - although you didn't see the effort involved in rebuilding my keyboard
  2. 7th inning stretch and Sox lead 6-2 It's 2.20am over here and time I called it a night - I just hope the world still looks good when I wake! One good think to sleep on... Baltimore leading the Yankees, 10-3
  3. 3-2 Why do they have to make hard work of it?
  4. Trot makes it 3-1 top of 3rd
  5. I hope you can see this - you will certainly need to enlarge the view! Please note: I didn't do a thing. British keyboards really are laid out that way
  6. Could somebody loan me 31 posts? I promise to give 'em back
  7. I'd like to be in (I hope this doesn't count as spam!)
  8. RedSoxRooter: Thank you! My wife and myself were pleased too element1151: It sounds like you have been fortunate to not have disability affect anyone in your family. That's wonderful - I hope you never have the worry of it. Fortunately it seems the Red Sox, like many corporate outfits, realise it is a real problem and they are willing to help people by (perhaps) holding a few tickets back. yeszir (and RedSoxRooter): I'll have to consider the Talksox sign - right now I'm thinking about a Red Sox Public Relations Dept sign
  9. From the very helpful people at Fenway Park - I contacted them through redsox.com and explained the situation concerning my wife being a disabled person. They were brilliant, I can't praise them enough! As public relations go, the Red Sox get my vote every time!
  10. O, ye of little faith! You won't get tickets at face value? How wrong can you be? I'm pleased to say that two Infield Grandstand tickets are mine... purchased at face value
  11. Thanks guys - I'm learning all the time. Now I know that if we did get tickets with seats we would need to take extra coats... to sit on
  12. Thanks yeszir - I've now found info elsewhere that says it's about 1 mile
  13. Sorry about the double post - can anyone say if the Midtown Hotel on Huntington Avenue is in walking distance to Fenway? If so, how long would it take?
  14. Thanks Joe... as a visiting Brit I'm only able to visualize what you're telling me by using photos and seating plan graphics but I'm getting the idea now. To be honest I don't think my wife or myself fancy 3-4 hours standing but we're both prepared to do it just to say we went to Fenway Park and watched our beloved Red Sox play
  15. Now we're getting somewhere! Where exactly is the SRO section? My wife doesn't enjoy standing for 3-4 hours... but then who does? Unfortunately, if they're the only available tickets, I may have to take them. :dunno:
  16. So nobody (who knows Fenway) knows where 'SRO, Row/Box 2, Seat 70' would be?
  17. At redsox.com. If you follow the instructions for buying two of the best available tickets for the August 30 game, that's what comes up. As I said, it's all new to me so I'm confused anyway!
  18. Hmm... you have to excuse my ignorance guys. I've never been to the USA before and never attended a game so I'm totally confused. The tickets actually state a row/block and 'seat number' (though there would be no seat of course!) so I don't understand the idea of 'watch from wherever you can'. I've compared the seating/price plan at redsox.com with the ticket information but I can't understand where they would expect you to stand... though I am sure they're not monster standing room tickets. The ticket info states: Section - SRO, Row/Box - 2, Seat - 70 Any ideas where that would be?
  19. OK... changing the subject slightly. What are 'standing room only' tickets for? Where in Fenway is the standing room only area (colour coded white on the official seating plan)? I have to add that these tickets are still available at face value - but the $20 price tag suggests to me that you couldn't get further away from home plate if you tried
  20. So, here we are well before the season has begun and you are expected to pay $200-$300 for an $80 seat for a game in August? That is a disgrace guys! I appreciate (and expected) having to pay over face value... but a 300% increase is outrageous. Tickets on eBay are mostly being sold by the ticket agencies - you know the "Tix 'R Us" kind of thing - and those are the prices they want. As for buying on the street, it's too risky for me. I've never seen a real ticket so I would never be able to spot a fake.
  21. As I said, most online sales (which are ticket agencies?) are very expensive ($500 for two tickets seems like robbery to me) and only for US customers. I would like to know where I (in the UK) can get two tickets from the US (at realistic prices). Help!!
  22. Hi, I'm hoping I'm posting this in the right forum but I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm wrong We're looking to come over to New England in August/September and will be in Boston for two days during our stay. We would always regret it if we didn't get to a game during what is likely to be our one and only trip to Boston but finding two tickets is becoming a nightmare. The official site doesn't offer two seats together for our choice of games and most online ticket sales sites (apart from appearing extortionate) are for US customers only, which doesn't help. It is highly probable that we'll be in Boston for the 29th and 30th (vs Devil Rays). We would only want tickets to one one of these games but how/where do we look to find two seats together? My wife is registered as a disabled person so we would need seats - standing room only would be out of the question. So, have any of you good people any suggestions? Regards, BritSox
  23. Thanks for the welcome! I've followed MLB on TV in the UK for quite a few years and, living in Boston, what choice did I have than to follow the Sox? And didn't the last post-season just make it all worthwhile?
  24. Hi there! I hope to get to know you better in future - but please don't hate me for being British EDIT: I should mention I live in the original Boston... on the east coast of England!
