The SF Chronicle has repeatedly reported that the Giants are interested in Roberts. Center field is a major priority fot the team as they have already filled their SS and closer holes. They tried to get Finley but he wanted to stay close to home in San Diego so he accepted less money in Anaheim. They also were looking at Posednik but he was just traded to the White Sox. So their #1 now seems to be Roberts and today the Giants signed Matheny to a 3 year deal. ESPN Source on Giants and Matheny With Matheny, AJ Pierzynski is on his way out as the Giants arent going to keep a pricey backup in Matheny or Pierzynski. The Giants may be using him to get a trade for Roberts especially if Varitek doesnt sign soon. Just a thought. However the giants could let him leave as a free agent by not offering him arbitration so there would be no possibilty of a trade.

Hermanson played adequetely as a starter for the giants but when our closer herges couldnt get it done, the giants moved him to the closer position. He pitched far from great especially at the Giants' pitcher friendly park. He had a few good games but mostly he gave up a lot of crucial runs. He blew the 2nd to last game of the season against the dodgers which cost the giants the playoffs. (3-0 lead into the ninth, 7-3 dodger win). A questionable sign for the white sox but he was cheap. Last year: 6-9, 17 svs, 4.53 ERA

KENT! That traitor. I dont mind him heading to the astros but how could he betray the giants by going to la? Gives me another reason to hate him. He was such a dick in the giants' clubhouse. I hope the giants crush him and the dodgers this year.

As a giants fan, i have tried to defend bonds for several years, but it is clear that he is on steroids. Ill still root for the guy because he plays for the giants but I am really beginning to despise him. About the MVP, bonds' numbers clearly proved he deserved it. He 'only' had 101 rbi because no one pitches to him when people were on base. And the giants finished one game back of the dodgers for the playoffs so its not like he pulled an ARod and won it with the last place team. 5 years straight Giants win MVP: World Series 0

Anyone here follow college football? As a die hard Califonia Golden Bears fan, the day the rose bowl was announced was one of the worst in my life. Probably equal to game 6 of the 2002 world series. God damn Baker, Felix Rodriguez always blows the game. Anyway, does anyone hear think Cal got royaly f***ed and they deserved the BCS bid over Texas? I would like to get an east coast perspective on this. Also, Mack Brown is such a whiny little bitch.

Hiya, giants fan here, Red Sox used to be my second favorite team until they won the world series. Now they no longer share in the giants misery so i cant root for them. Bonds and Schmidt are the best pitcher and batter combo in baseball. And I know Bonds is on the cream and clear but Ill still defend him as he is the giants only shot.
