    Now that I don't expect anything outside of the season, I'm just looking forward to watching Pedroia for the next month and a half. And in the event that a miracle happens, I'll gladly eat s*** if we make the playoffs.

    I've been getting an insane amount recently. It's actually starting to get quite frustrating.

    There's a difference between letting players walk to free agency, and holding a fire sale to receive what you can in return. Besides, the FO was too gutless to re-sign Damon or Pedro. His stance is consistent.

    Wait, so you can bring a player up and then just move him to the DL? For some reason I thought that you had to call someone up and give them playing time so as to not "cheat the system" in a sense. I mean, the paper move makes sense to me, I just don't understand why it's possible in the first place to call someone up and place them on the DL right away. But hey, whatever works to get Pedroia up here to see how this kid can handle the majors...

The FO is way too concerned with how the moves, that would actually benefit the team at this point, would look. I guess I would be too if I had a 120 million dollar payroll that didn't make the playoffs. How embarrassing would it be to throw in the towel with a team that expensive... (Notice how I didn't say win the world series with a 120 million dollar payroll. I said make the playoffs.)
