  1. TIM HUDSON HAS FACED THE MINIMUM AND HE'S THROWING A SHUTOUT.
  2. KING OF THE CASTLE! KING OF THE CASTLE!
  3. You mean...Edgar Renteria? And I think Tek was safe at first.... Nice play by Youk. EDIT: Another nice play.
  4. It's just a reference. When I think he has 99 pitches I'll remember it's actually 100. But yes, I don't know what got into me when I posted that, lol.
  5. Great, great AB for Youk there. He really does protect the plate quite well. Please don't GIDP, Jason.
  6. Good thing Beckett got McCann out of there on that next pitch. His pitch count is currently x + 1, where x is the number of pitches officially thrown, because of that "time" call. Way too late to call that. Anyway, good start. Beckett always settles down after the first inning so giving up nothing was big for him there.
  7. Damn straight. Because Beckett's a f***in' horse. I realized how ridiculous it was as I was doing my last minute scramble for some mojo. Nice K for beckett. What the f*** has gotten into Willie Harris?
  8. The Green Monster says hello. If opposing teams load their lineups with righties against our lefty pitchers they could be hitting balls off of the Monster more than we'd like. This is why I'm weary of having too many lefties in the rotation.
  9. I'd like to see how many 1-2-3 first innings the Sox offense gives up. I would not be surprised if it's the most in the majors.
  10. I would like to rent Buehrle if the price is right. I worry about lefties at Fenway but Buehrle's interesting. Kenny Williams on PTI earlier today said that if his team was falling out of contention at the trade deadline he'd be willing to move some of his veterans if it came down to that. I think it's realistic, we're just going to have to hope that the White Sox continue to suck throughout the year. If not, forget about it.
  11. Hahahaha. Real Men of Genius is marketing at its finest. It's absolutely great!
  12. Fred, use the ignore list. There's nothing you can do to stop him from saying it. I'm not going to stop him from saying it either because I'm not going to moderate what he can and can't say. However, I can advise you to stop responding. Thread closed; next game is about to start.
  13. From espn.com's "Scouts Inc. Briefing Room" : I think the Sox would be able to compel him.
  14. Well, with Schilling right now there's a black hole in our lineup. He can't go out and pitch like this everyday. We have a good offense when it's clicking, but once you're that far down you send out your mop-up relievers to finish the game out; essentially throwing the game away. If Schilling's hurting Lester will be called up. And if they don't want to use Lester just yet, I want to see Buchholz. He can dip his feet in the water. If he can't handle the pressure and/or some adversity if he gets hit hard, then he's not a good prospect.
  15. Fair enough. I personally think Drew is this team's fifth hitter and I would put Pedroia and Youk as the 1-2 before Ortiz-Manny-Drew, but I can also see why they want to use Drew there. Despite his average, he has gotten on base a lot and he actually does have some wheels to complement that. So, we'll see. Beware: If Coco continues to mash like he has been recently, maybe we'll see a change at the top of lineup. I don't want that to happen because I think he needs to stay just where he is (he's not hurting anyone when he's hitting that well down at the bottom of the lineup), but we may see it.
  16. ... that's because Big Z is a FA after this season. Santana is a FA after NEXT season. Besides, wouldn't it be nice to have both? Nothing is beyond the Sox. If they wanted to spend enough they could make Santana happy. They have the financial muscles. I hope to God they actually flex them and spend like they f***ing can. Until there's a cap, I don't care how much they pay.
  17. It's working for them right now, lol. They led off with Pedroia when they beat the Rockies before they lost the next two. I don't know why they changed it. It was Pedroia - Youk for the 1 - 2. But we're winning more than losing with Drew at the top and he's doing a great job so far. I love Lowell but if his hand/wrist is causing too much of a problem than we're to need to try to make a move for Teixeira or Helton and plug him in the 5 hole. Lowell should be hitting fifth now anyway, but he's in a slump recently.
  18. Schmidt will have surgery on his shoulder tomorrow. Unknown return date. Bummer for the Dodgers. Just heard it on SportsCenter but I'll look for a link.
  19. Schilling in the big 3? Ha! If there is a big 3, that third spot goes to Tavarez And, I'm not kidding.
  20. Hudson's career vs. Boston: 3-8 with a 6.22 ERA.
