    The point he was bringing up about BJ Ryan, I believe, is that his dominance diminishes what Papelbon is doing. If there was no competition for the title of 'best closer', then Paps would have a better shot at ROY.

    I can't see any real fan booing Pedro. BDD has it backwards. Cheer Johnny and boo Pedro? My ass. The worst thing about the Red Sox is how no player can seem to leave the team on a good note. I hope we can put the minute bad past with Pedro behind us and realize how dominant a pitcher he was.

    The reason he was inefficient was because he was going solely for power. I remember an interview a few years back where he professed a love for homeruns and said all he wanted to do was hit them. You won't do well with that mentality, and it is part of the reason I was never a huge fan of Nixon's. If he wants to be an all around player now, excellent. He's earned a new fan.
