  1. I actually think those early comments from WMB's developmental coaches nipped that in the bud. I was glad they hit some balls to him and "looked" at him at SS but equally glad they did not do anything beyond that.
  2. Boy we really care what Soriano thinks now don't we!
  3. On the Buch thing and the Agons thing, I really don't think V has done anything to challenge a player's preference since the "we don't do things that way around here" incident. FO did a horrible job there. Castrated their manager just like that. V commented about golf maybe not being the best way for Beckett to spend his day off but that was certainly not a direct challenge to a player's preference.
  4. Buck and McCarver always seem compelled to have these...this guys thinks that discussions....like anybody cares. I have never understood what they hell they thought they were doing with that s***. The s*** they talk about is always so mundane....like so and so likes 4 wheel drive????
  5. By the way that is two throws in a row (I think) that Salty has put right on the money.
  6. They used to say that the pitcher "sandwiched three strike outs" around a hit or a walk or whatever and reserved struck out the side for an inning with three up three down all by K.
  7. I know I posted this the other day but I think either Cafardo or Abraham wrote that AGons was petitioning to remain in the lineup and the implication was that V wanted him to take a day. Assuming that is accurate I am wondering why V does not just remove him from the lineup as soon as they are out of these NL parks or even still in these NL parks.
  8. That is what I thought but didn't one of the announce guy's say tight end at the top of the telecast? Maybe he played both???? I have no idea.
  9. Yup, I even think Salty might have seen that as an encouraging signal in his direction (meaning 4th in lineup). So the Sox may have gotten the best of both worlds in dropping AGons...who happens to be walking back to the dugout right now after another K.
  10. The tight end did not learn his lesson the first time I guess.
  11. Oh my God McCarver you are a complete idiot. Talk about something you know about....maybe antiques...who knows....not baseball.
  12. Working on having a 1 game winning streak....be still my heart!
  13. At least it does not seem like Lester has adopted Beckett's batting style during inter-league. Beckett gets two strikes and gives up at that point. Would not want to strain himself. Almost thought Beckett was going to walk back to the dugout with two strikes last time.
  14. By the way, that is what I was talking about yesterday. I thought there were still some gaps in those rooftop bleachers but it looks like all the gaps are filled by those stacks of bleachers at Wrigley.
  15. Honest to God I cannot take these guys anymore. I literally don't want my kid watching these jerks. Might get it into his head that this is the way baseball is played. Glad he is off with his friends tonight.
  16. What the f*** is wrong with this team. It's two outs David. It does not matter where the f*** the ball is for crying out loud. Just go hard for home and take a peak after you round the bag at 3rd if anything.
  17. Here we go folks....Beckett is officially on the 15 day DL. That is not great but tolerable. If it gets worse than that though....the Sox really don't have an answer.
  18. It will be difficult to pull off s deal that brings the Sox pitching mid-season this year. I always thought it was easier to say that is what we will do in the off-season and spring but much harder to actually do that when push comes to shove. However they have to pull the trigger and get Youk out of here or sit him down. His value is not going up in the next three weeks....that is a pipe dream....it is not happening. Just thinking about how many more games the Sox could lose in the next three weeks scares the s*** out of me. If nothing else, put him on the bench PLEASE. This team needs to come out of June at least within range. If they are not careful, they are going to be out of range of both WC. Every team they need to compete with has for the most part got the bit between their teeth maybe with the exception of the O's but even they are not exactly falling off the edge of a cliff now are they.
  19. Dempster has auditioned successfully....I doubt he will be as buy low as he once would have been.
  20. Ya' I really have been expecting either Agons dropped in the order and Youk sits or Agons takes a day off. Given the pitcher today Youk sits makes the most sense. Really interested to see what Salty does with the 4......maybe nothing but it will still be fun to watch.
  21. Wow, Salty sitting 4 with WMB behind him.....could be fun to watch.
  22. I am sure this bunch has taken a page out of Disney World's book and knows down to the nickel how much money each fanny in seat should be spending per quarter hour of attendance and makes every effort to extract that amount of cash from said fanny. How I wish they cared as much about what those two eyes a couple of feet north of said fanny were looking at out there on the field.
  23. I think they would have squeezed a win or two out of Bailey and a win or two out of the everyday guys probably because of Ells. You have to credit the subs for their work and I think you can make the case that they have been adequate replacements for CC and the limited time that Ross has been out. However from this month on and actually more so coming up, in the second half of the season, the schedule gets really tough. We needed to make hay early this season and didn't do it. Plus they need an injection of good SP this year, everyday players and closer et al.
  24. Correctamento!!! Hopefully Beckett is OK....How often do these Sox injuries go down this road...First to miss one start, now more likely to miss two starts....here we go again. However you are still right about the lack of a legitimate 1 and how much it would change the profile of the rotation and really the entire staff to put a legitimate 1 on this team.
  25. V has not been much of a solution but he is surely not the problem. There are things I wish he did differently and there are times when I just don't have an idea where V is going. However while there are things I wish I saw more of from V and his coaches, I just think the problems that the Sox have go so far past what a manager and his coaches can be expected to do that they are at the bottom of my "blame" list.
