  1. Is this like maybe the best park in the AL to just let hitters hit fly balls to the OF as long as you have guys that can go get it? Seems like there is so much room out there and the ball just seems to die to all fields.
  2. Can't keep walking guys John. Got him set up to go back outside and that is where I would prefer he go against Rasputin.
  3. Kinda' surprised by Crisp staying in a ML starting lineup this long. 9 bombs this year. 9 bombs???? Where the heck is that coming from?
  4. That was a very strange looking inning for Lackey there. Seemed very tentative and a bit unsure of himself. Maybe he has not pitched to many of these guys. That shot from behind home plate makes this place look even larger than it really is.
  5. Josh Rasputin walked.....pure evil.
  6. Game time 10:05 Eastern Tonight we get John Lackey, 6-6, 2.80 ERA vs. Jarrod Parker, 6-6, 4.04 ERA. Lets start the the three game set the right way and stomp this circus act. Go Sox....Go John! Recently, playing the A's means confronting Josh Reddick and his vengeful desire to punish the Sox for having cut him away. Reddick is in the lineup tonight. All players like to show up the team that let them go but Reddick seems to really relish opportunities against the Sox. Vengeance can be a powerful but decidedly negative force. Therefore I will invoke totally positive New England forces to counter the evil Mr. Reddick, one non-sports related and one sports related. For tonight's non-sports reference, since it is July and just past Independence Day, I invoke the spirit of Old Ironsides, The USS Constitution. Got those big guns aimed right at your gonads Josh. For tonight's sports reference, I invoke the Spirit of.......Bobby Orr. That's right Josh....Bobby Orr circling the old Garden ice with you stuck on the end of his hockey stick....Better stay in line Josh...all it takes is one little twist of a hockey stick between the legs like that and you are singing soprano. Better not take any chances....an 0-fer at the plate and an error in the field would be your safest bet tonight Josh. Tell your buddy Jed that Bobby is watching his ass too and there is plenty of room for him on the end of that stick.
  7. If XB does keep getting bigger, do we think he ends up at 3rd with Iggy at SS?
  8. By the way I think it should be MJ's but I will do whatever you guys want.
  9. So you guys just decide and let me know whats what.
  10. You guys need to tell me so that I don't screw up. Given the win do I need to start the game thread for tomorrow? If that is the case I might start it tonight just so I don't screw it up.
  11. At least for me this is one of their most impressive wins of the season. Down early...starter shits the bed.....great and I do mean great AB's up and down the order...terrific performance by Wright. Even good baseball teams do not win this game. Very impressive showing.
  12. Don't you just love it when Nava burns em. I agree with Remy though. Nava was not catching up to that heater. Did him a favor throwing the curve.
  13. The Sox have had some nice AB's today. Really it is what has kept them in this game....along with Wright
  14. Come on ump. This ump has actually missed a good many of Wright's pitches. Just seems to give up on the knuckler. 5 2/3 innings from Wright. Now he is making a case to stay up here.
  15. Seems like we are pushing it with Wright here but maybe not.
  16. What a nice job by Wright. Happy for him as much as anything. Every time he has had a chance he has seemed snake bitten.
  17. I was just going to say at least I have never seen him string that many good knucklers together. Usually he ends up loosing it somewhere along the way. The knuckler stops knuckling and that is that. Has gotten it done. I just wish they would not bring him into jams. Tough to ask a knuckler to be perfect. So many past ball chances. So many opportunities to just toss up a nothing ball that gets crushed until he gets into a groove with that thing. Would have preferred somebody else to get outta' that jam and then Wright to start a fresh inning.
  18. Think we could get pitchers to throw it exactly there every time to Lavs?
  19. I guess nobody sees a bullpen pitching dual in the works?
  20. Way ta' go Iggy...now bury these bums....I think we might need something like.......12....maybe 15
  21. I have yet to find Lavarnway's green light hot zone. Maybe it is somewhere outside the actual strike zone.
  22. Oh my God...I would guess that if Ortiz got 5 pitches like that to swing at, four would be in the bleachers. Please leave this bum in for at least one more batter...maybe two...
  23. Interesting as in additionally painful...frustrating....run generating.....call the taxi to get outta' town instigating! Why bring Wright into this? Get somebody to get us out of the inning while we are still in the game and bring Wright to start a fresh inning or something.
