  1. Maybe they’re so focused on a rockstar power swing they just swing at everything ?
  2. I see we are winning! Just went out to get rice if anyone cares.
  3. And on that note. KICK HIS ASS SEA BASS!!!!! Go Sox.
  4. Splinter made the game thread, no need to panic folks.
  5. Lol, I think the mojo is gone folks. YastrzemskI created the game thread and should have kept going with it and then Splinter took over. Has happened a bunch this year. If he isn't here to create game thread by 4 someone else do it.
  6. E-Rod was decent last year but he is usually around that 4 era so this year is no shocker to me. He is who he is.... Vert inconsistent and I have never trusted him. I guess that is why when he gives us even 5 innings of 1 run baseball I am usually happy. I expect the worst out of him. It's Porcello who disgusts me more than anything. He had a pretty solid year last year and he can pitch very well. His games against Houston, Texas and Minnesota are the Porcello I like. That is shades of CY YOUNG Rick. Then he follows it up with 11 innings of complete s***. He needs to rebound and fast. Sale as well but at least he is giving us 6 innings granted they are ugly it's 6 innings none the less.
  7. Disagreed. This caliber of competition will make them bring their A game. Yes I would like to see E-Rod go 6 or more but going 5 and giving up just 1 run against the Yanks is a good performance (especially with how they were hitting on the weekend) but I have never been a fan of E-Rod and I don't think he is that good. So when I see him go 5 innings or 6 and give up 2 runs or less in my eyes that is decent.... Price has been good..... It's Sale and Porcello who need to get it together. Porcello pitched extremely well against Minnesota, I trust we will see that Porcello again. Sale....... Well lets just hope this break gave him a chance to find his game. He had a horrible start to the season but rebounded very nice and had a nice stretch of games..... But his last handful of starts have been more than ugly. I think he finds his game, he is just too good not to. Same with Verlander for Houston. His last 4 starts he has given up something like 15 runs. Guys like Verlander and Sale rebound eventually.
  8. Honestly I think most of us thought we could go all the way last year if not for Houston. I don't know about the rest of the board but I was not worried about the yankees (last year) but Houston scared me as they were the defending champs and had a better record than their World Series year AND beat us in the regular season...... Nothing convinced me we should beat them especially when we lost game 1...... Once we beat them I had a feeling we would own the Dodgers in the World Series. This year totally different as the Yankees, Twins, Guardians, Astros and Rays all look good and then the Dodgers will likely be in the World Series again and they look very good. But I do agree, on paper we still have way too much talent to start making drastic moves. Maybe if we were 10 games out of a playoff spot or something.... but being just 1 game out of a Wild Card spot I say we keep going and hope to hell our starting rotation (specifically Sale and Porcello) get their s*** together the second half of the season and we start beating some of the good teams like the Dodgers who we play tonight.
  9. We are not trading Rick. So doesn't matter.
  10. Because they’re f***ing professionals and nobody is more upset about their performances than they are. E-Rod has really performed well his last couple starts. Yes I wish we could get another inning or 2 out of him but 5 against the Yanks with just 1 run is a damn good start considering their offense. Price has been rock solid. It’s more less Sale and Porcello that need to rebound. And I trust they will
  11. That is what I find the most insulting....... I know this feeling all too well with being a Colts fan. 2 seasons ago Irsay kept saying Luck will return just to draw tickets and keep fans in the seats.... Luck obviously did not return that season and the fanbase knew it by the half way point. Organizations in sports can be sketchy as all hell.
  12. Dodgers up next. This should be a hell of a series!
  13. How about we wait and see because nobody including you has a clue. Eovaldi was rock solid in a high pressure situation in the post season. Let’s we what he can do for us. Yes the health is a concern. But he’s our closer for now. So hope for the best.
  14. No way of knowing for sure but I think he will do very well. Only one way to find out and that is by putting him in there
  15. Wow. Thanks for posting. And fair point. I still think at this point what do we have to lose? I think Eovaldi can be a great closer but that remains to be seen. Maybe he can go a couple innings for us? Does a closer mean just the 9th? Kimbrel has had multiple inning gMes before so why can’t Evo? As it stands right now we are fighting for a playoff spot. If Eovaldi comes in and makes that big of an impact that we suck and fall 10 games out of a playoff spot then fine. It’s a bad idea. But I just don’t see this being a negative thing.
  16. At the end of the day he took a high pressure situation and turned it into a great performance on the biggest stage of the MLB season. Yes it's a small sample size but unfortunately you work with what you got. Better than anything else we have. "panic move" Lmao no s***..... Next to the Mets we have one of the worst bullpens in baseball (just look at our blown saves) It absolutely is a desperation move..... And one we need. Anyone who doesn't agree with this is on some pretty hard drugs as they must have a better imagination on what to do for the closing role.
  17. He said he will take a pay cut. I thought it would have come out by now what his offer was. But no clue yet.
  18. I like that last part you typed. Sign big dick!
  19. To be fair I was going to edit the title and say I wish we could get. But it’s stupid, we can’t edit the title. Can we? On the other Sox board we can.
  20. When he signs with us you can thank me later.
  21. Nope. He's busy training for his UFC fight with either Tom Cruise or Steve-O
