  4. elix Doubront left Tuesday's start for Triple-A Pawtucket with a right hamstring injury. Doubront suffered a mild hamstring strain in his final start before the All-Star break. He thought it was no big deal, but it appears he's now aggravated the ailment. The left-hander has pitched well this season when healthy, but he's missed time with elbow and groin maladies and now has the hamstring to deal with. It's not clear at this point how long he might be out.
  5. Ivan Nova left his start for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Tuesday with an apparent leg injury. Donnie Collins of the Scranton Times-Tribune reports that Nova "appeared to be extremely frustrated and slammed his glove off his leg as he limped to the dugout." He also added, "I'm no doctor, but (it) doesn't look good." We've yet to hear official word on the severity of the ailment and if it is, in fact, a leg injury.

  8. According to CBSsports.com, the Red Sox have inquired about the 27-year-old, although it's unclear how serious the inquiries are at this point. With Clay Buchholz still out injured, the Red Sox are wondering whether or not they need to be searching for a starter. The rumors with the Yankees are well known, but it's unknown if either AL East power has enough to offer Colorado in exchange for Jimenez. According to the report, the Reds and Rangers could be dark horses to obtain the righty's services. http://www.nesn.com/2011/07/red-sox-join-race-to-secure-rockies-ace-ubaldo-jimenez.html
  9. One batter ,who is the best one on the team
  10. According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, the Phillies and Red Sox are among the most aggressive suitors, "if not the most aggressive," for Mets' outfielder Carlos Beltran. Interestingly, Rosenthal notes that the interest in Beltran is so high that the Mets might trade him "several days or more" before the July 31 deadline and pay less of his remaining salary than initially expected. The Red Sox and Phillies both have concerns about luxury tax ramifications, so they would likely want to Mets to cover a substantial portion of the roughly $6 million left on his contract -- at least in a perfect world -- but Rosenthal opines that both teams have demonstrated a past willingness to spend on the right players. Of course, Beltran is the best bat on the market right now, so we'll likely hear a new favorite every day until a deal is done.
