Yeah, I have seen ads for guys who departs as free agents, but never for trades. He was heading off for a few months as a rental, so an ad seems very weird. I hope we get him back.

^^^ yup. Donaldson is a superstar 3B, the best in baseball. He's been the top 3 most valuable guy in the past 2 season. He is under team control for drops of buckets pay the next 4 year. Beane got hosed for taking back that s*** of a package of a broken airhead Lawrie and 'prospects' that is far more likely to flamed out than succeed.

They had many of those non performers before signing Tanaka + Ellsbury. Kuroda pay was $16M last season, you add 3-4 million more to that AAV, voila, Lester will pitch in the Bronx next season. You really expect them to trust CC or Tanaka with TJS at any point to lead that rotation? Lester might not be enough to go to the playoff, but the Yankees never back down from making huge deals.

Don't believe that for a nano second. The Yankees will get a top rotation arm, not because they can, because they need to.

Today is free agency day. We need 2 starting pitchers. We need a lefty 3B. We need a reliever or two. We need to trade one or two of our OF.

I expect Scherzer or Lester to pitch for them next year. They need a 200 inning replacements for Kuroda (and McCarthy.)

Panda would be nice here next year. He's very good at putting the ball in play, and just annoying to pitch to in general.
