  1. He's an unreliable sack of s***.
  2. What I just saw is one the reasons I love baseball so much. What a great story.
  3. Lol at the "anti-me"! In defense of Gill, the diagnosis of fractured ribs is not so straight forward. Non displaced fractures are difficult to detect (Jacko has said this) from what I've been told by my Doctors (I've had rib fractures twice, at least). Gill held a teleconference Friday. He said the same thing. With rib injuries, they assume the worst case scenario (a fracture) and treat it as such. Even if it is a contusion. I think that in this case (Ellsbury had 4 MRI and CT scans), the Sox medical staff did their job as well as anyone could have asked. Ellsbury is now on the DL for another rib fracture. I don't know what the medical status of either Scutaro or Cameron was prior to signing. I suspect both had a pre existing condition that was deemed, at the time, a reasonable risk. I would not have spent $27+ Mil. on them but, hey, I'm an arm chair GM. What do I know? One more thing. The Sox said Cameron was in spring training with the hernia. So, like, when did it occur? Not to mention Scutaro's neck problems were never disclosed (as far as I know), until last week. Maybe Dojji is right. Iglasias (sp - sorry VA) may be playing SS in Boston this season. Once he comes off the DL!
  4. I say McDonald will be no worse than what we have seen to date. He may tail off at the plate but so what? Reddick has not produce at the plate and needs to make better, more regular contact and drive the ball into the gaps. In Pawtucket.
  5. I don't think the Sox will trade for another outfielder. How many do they need? The scrubs are doing just fine, so far. Why take on millions in payroll and sacrifice prospects for what will most likely 4-5 weeks until Ellsbury and Hermida come back? While it would be preferable to have Reddick getting every day at bats in Pawtucket, he can fill in as necessary without a severe drop -off offensively and he is, despite what some members have said in the last few day, quite adept defensively. We saw Hall move to second tonight. Fine. Reddick comes in and does no damage. One potential problem is if Scutaro goes down for a long time before Ellsbury and Hermida come back. Then we would see Reddick in the line-up every day. Still, the Sox appear to have enough swat with a .190 hitter playing every day. We've seen a lot of that in the last 7 years. I say stand pat.
  6. This post and the potential responses are full of potential! No offense Nutriatch!
  7. Meanwhile the Sox have scored 5 runs.
  8. Yes I would. I'm indifferent to soccer. I played as a youth and it was fun. But I did not grow up with it being part of the culture of my environment, as I did with basketball, football, and baseball. It's a great game with players that have to be athletic. But the field is so big and there is so much unproductive running back and forth with only a few moments of excitement and "action". I don't think it translates well to TV. MLS has a team 6 miles from my house (The Revolution). I have no interest in going to a game. Especially when I'd have to pay Bob Kraft $40. to park and $9. for a beer.
  9. This from Peter Abraham this morning: "Mentioned this before and it bears repeating. A 10-10 record against the Guardians, Orioles and Royals is not getting it done. The way the AL East looks, one or two games could be a huge difference. The Sox have to start taking care of business against bad teams. A 4-3 road trip to Baltimore and Cleveland is not good enough."
  10. Celts won 96-89.
  11. I'm up for extra innings. As long as the Sox win.
