  1. A bunch of them joined Talksox. Many of them continue to lurk.
  2. Actually, daveymac is a pretty cool guy. His post is likely directed to some of the other British Football fans here.
  3. So I guess a 3rd baseman with near gold glove skills at his position and an OPS hovering around 1.000 is just above average. Good to know.
  4. I feel better knowing that "The State" will pay for his incarceration. The guy may not have acted with malice, but his actions certainly were premeditated (by my standards). He got hammered (his decision) and drove a car under the influence (again, his decision). His actions resulted in the deaths of three people. He knew before hand that what he was doing was not only illegal, but likely to cause injury to others. As far as I'm concerned he forfeited his right to live when he got in that car drunk. I'm not an advocate of the death penalty. But there should be more severe punishment for some crimes. This, I believe, is one of them. Also, last spring I voiced objection to a fan being tased for running on the field during a baseball game. I stated that it was excessive force. I was the only one to voice objection. It was stupid to run onto the field. But no harm was done. Now a guy has killed three people and people here believe the death penalty is unwarranted. Strange.
  5. Not applicable in this case. Unless the police f***ed-up at the crime scene and can't make a positive Id on the guy.
  6. Lol. "at least above average at 3B".:lol:
  7. So who should foot the bill to incarcerate this guy for 51 years? And why?
  8. Why not just give him a needle and be done with it? He killed three people. Not by accident, either.
  9. Dutchy was originally banned for going off on YOTN one night.
  10. I guess you'll be moving to P-Town then.
  11. How was justice served? Three people are dead.
  12. I was not involved.
  13. I've never heard anything bad about Anna's. Other than long lines at lunch time. But again, it's not real Mexican cuisine.
  14. Maybe Nava could be converted to SS?
  15. This. However, I prefer real Mexican food. But Anna's burritos are the balls.
  16. Mexican food??? I like you already! Please tell me you like burbon ! Welcome to Talksox.
  17. Well at least I didn't have anything to do with it! My spelling SUCKS! I would have caught that one, though. Rouge. Good thing you were a French major!
  18. It's my guess that some of the "ideas" voiced on talksox that prompt one to scratch his head are attributable to not getting laid enough. I laughed when Gom said it but I now think there may be something to it. Maybe everyone is bored now that the Sox have made several significant moves. But for the love of Christ, why is Iglesias now expendable? He had a pretty good 1st full year in American pro ball. Take away his wrist/hand injury and there is absolutely nothing to indicate that he will never be at least a league average offensive shortstop. And there are some indications that he will be more than that. He has a quik bat and is very coachable. He's already making better contact. Plus, he's had to try to learn a new language (kind of important when it comes to coaching a player) and he has had to become adjusted to a completly new way of life and culture. He may not be ready for 2012, but what's the f***ing rush? And as Dipre said, what is the facination with a shortstop that can't stay healthy and has a big contract? The Sox are on the right track (finaly) at shortstop. No nead to f***-up a good plan.
  19. Welcome to the Rogue State.
  20. I didn't look at the periferals and I agree that W/L is not the best measure of a pitchers value. Especially when they play on a perenial powerehouse like the Weaver era O's. However, I saw those guys pitch dozens of times. They were "dominant". Sometimes talent transends generations and eras. Those four, along with guys like Gibson, Seaver, Marichel (sp), Blue, McClain, etc., would be very sucessful and likely as "dominant" if they were pitching now. Just as Gale Sayers or Jim Brown would be in football ( where the players are bigger and faster now) or Wilt Chamberlain and Lew Alcindor (as examples) in basketball.
  21. I don't think anyone should critisize your opinions.
  22. Fuentes. But I'd take Masterson back. Can he get lefties out?
  23. I always liked George Steele. And , of course, Pedro Morales.
