  1. Let me start off by saying this is not to stir up any "drama". I want honest opinions. I had a guy on my home Royals board try to tell us Dice-K is better. He wasn't talking about this year, he's talking as a whole, since Matsuzaka came to the MLB in 2007. I had some time on my hands, so I came up with this... As starters, since 2007... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/KScivic/greinkejap-1.jpg Greinke spent the majority of the 2007 season as a reliever, so I thought it'd be more fair to only use his numbers as a starter. Anyways, here are the overall numbers... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/KScivic/greinkejap-2.jpg
  2. Sunday... Buehrle: (W), 7 innings, 5 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts, ERA down to 3.17 Hernandez: (ND), 7.1 innings, 6 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 walks, 8 strikeouts, 1 home run, ERA down to 2.72 Millwood: (L), 7 innings, 8 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned, 3 walks, 10 strikeouts, ERA still 2.62 Verlander: (W), 7.2 innings, 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 3 walks, 8 strikeouts, 2 home runs, ERA down to 3.31
  3. Down to .407 after going 0-4 today...
  4. I agree, but somehow his numbers add up... Jered Weaver last night... (L), 5.1 innings, 10 hits, 6 runs (earned), 3 walks, 4 strikeouts, 1 home run. ERA up to 2.53 Verlander, Hernandez, and Millwood all pitch later today...
  5. Hitting .421 after going 1-4 yesterday...
  6. Yesterday... Saunders: (ND), 6.1 innings, 6 hits, 4 earned runs, 3 walks, 4 strikeouts, 2 home runs, ERA up to 3.80 Slowey: (W), 6 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 4 walks, 6 strikeouts, ERA down to 4.01
  7. He's batting .188 AT HOME.
  8. He probably won't get the required 502 plate appearances, but it might not matter... Basically, if Mauer is batting say .405, but only has 490 plate apperances, they would take .012 off his average. So if nobody is batting .393, Mauer would win the batting title.
  9. Last night... Jackson: (L) 6 innings, 7 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 walks, 7 strikeouts, 1 home run. ERA up to 2.39 Greinke: (L) 6.2 innings, 8 hits, 6 runs, 4 earned, 2 walks, 9 strikeouts, 1 home run. ERA up to 1.96 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/KScivic/NNCY8.jpg
  10. 1 for 4 yesterday, now batting .425
  11. Halladay to the DL... http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090617&content_id=5374722&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  12. Halladay to the DL... http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090617&content_id=5374722&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  13. Verlander: (L), 4 innings, 8 hits, 5 earned runs, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts. ERA up to 3.39 Millwood: (W), 7 innings, 4 hits, 1 earned run, 3 walks, 6 strikeouts, 1 home run. ERA down to 2.62 Hernandez: (W), CG SHO, 2 hits, 4 walks, 6 strikeouts. ERA down to 2.77 Greinke and Jackson pitch tomorrow. I'll post a new graphic Thursday morning...
  14. Only 25, already has two batting titles, and he is a career .324 hitter. Hitting .429 as of June 16.
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4264062
  16. They are according to Bill James and his "Cy Young Predictor", at least they were before today. They were in the top 10 anyways...
  17. Several bad outings today, although both Buehrle and Beckett hit home runs... Beckett: (L), 6 innings, 11 hits, 7 runs, 6 earned, 0 walks, 5 strikeouts, 1 HR. ERA up to 4.15 Buerhle: (ND), 6 innings, 7 hits, 4 earned runs, 1 walk, 5 strikeouts, 3 HR. ERA up to 3.43 Jered Weaver getting red hot, I read the other day he was dedicating this season to Nick Adenhart... Weaver: (W), CG, SHO, 5 hits, 1 walk, 5 strikeouts. ERA down to 2.08
  18. They'd be really stupid not too, but then again it is the Natinals...
  19. Still could be. There's still a good chance he misses more than a week...
  20. If it's a week. He could still be headed for the DL, depends how things go. Statistically, Greinke will make 2 starts before the 20th, so the ASG start is his to lose right now...
  21. http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090613&content_id=5303612&vkey=news_tor&fext=.jsp&c_id=tor
  22. Per MLBTR... Bench coach Jim Riggleman will replace him.
  23. We've enjoyed Coco here in KC, although his BA is down, and he's battled a shoulder injury. On the flip side, we sure do miss Ramirez. Our late inning relievers have struggled this season. I like Coco, and want him back next season, but not for his $8M option...
