  1. I am not expecting a Manny of 2004 to walk through the door. But people are missing the fact that Manny actually had a good year from a player standpoint. He reached base at a .409 clip, which is ridiculous. Now he did have some injuries and his slugging to a massive hit. Whether that was injury or father time or both remains to be seen. Regardless, he could give us a right handed OF option vs lefties, a top notch bat off the bench and probably a .850-.900OPS player on the offensive end. That would unseat Posada and improve our DH position
  2. I had them change the channel on the router and it seems to have helped. Not great connection, but better than nothing. It is interesting, though. This site, a yankees site, and bank of america were the only sites affected.
  3. No, it just times out and says site isn't responding. It is definitely something to do with verizon's connection, but just wondering if anything changed
  4. Manny would be in his backyard again. it would either be amazing or a complete disaster. No middle ground there
  5. I think manny would end up beating out posada as the primary DH
  6. Yeszir, have there been any database changes? For the past 3 days, I have been able to connect through my iPhone off the network, but my verizon network says your site isn't responding. I've even turned off my antivirus and my firewall and still no dice. This is the only site this is occurring on. I wonder if I am the only one with this issue
  7. Yanks in on Manny. I would be 100% for this move as long as Manny is cool with maybe 100-110 starts and a lot of PH duties
  8. Cash already said that Joba is a reliever
  9. First call is Nova. My guess is that Andy returns and Nova locks down the #5 spot out of the gate. After that, my money is on Phelps. The guy can flat out pitch. From there, it depends on time of the year. If the Yankees need a pitcher early in the year, Mitchell and Noesi have the upper hand. If it is later in the year, Brackman or Warren will be the callups with an outside chance of Betances or Banuelos. The pitching is deep, but it needs one more year to mature
  10. They kept back Kalish from the Gonzo deal, yet purged 2 top notch prospects in Kelly and Rizzo and got their 2009 first rounder plus a PTBNL. You think Reyes is gonna come cheap? Iglesias and Kalish are your only bargaining chips above A ball right now and they would be a starting point for Reyes
  11. Kalish would be a necessity, IMO. Kalish and Iglesias would get it done, IMO. The Mets get to rebuild their roster with Kalish, who looks the part of a starting CFer in the bigs and get the opportunity to groom Iglesias. If he hits, then great, if he doesnt, then a defensive specialist at SS in the NL isnt as rough as it would be in the AL East
  12. I am comparing Crawford in his second to last yr of his deal to Werth in his third year. It isnt too difficult. I have said many times that for the first 3 yrs, I expect Crawford to be a 6WAR player, meaning he will be in the elite status
  13. Werth is older. Therein lies the problem. At 35 yrs old, though, I will take Werth vs Crawford. The ability to get on base and drive the ball typically doesnt go. The consistency of making contact does
  14. The assumption of "plenty of offense" gets a lot of teams in trouble.
  15. I wouldn't be counting on Iglesias just yet. If he cannot hit, then Lowrie might end up being the SS of the future
  16. Take Hughes out and it's even worse. Our #4 and #5 starters last yr were abysmal. One wasnt a fixable problem. Vazquez lost a few mph off his FB and couldnt get it by people anymore. That isnt fixable. AJ was cruising until a midseason divorce and his pitching coach went AWOL threw him off. I think he still has the stuff to be a solid #2 in the league, the question has always been if his head will be in it. I would assume he's a bit embarrassed and I expect him to improve. Hughes was fine as the #3, and I bet this yr, he improves to a #2 caliber starter. Pettitte isnt a 3ERA guy. He's more of a 4ERA guy and he isnt good for 32 starts anymore. We need to give him a lot of time if he comes back. I would try to limit him to 25 starts regardless of how strong he feels. We need him in the playoffs. I think our rotation needed Lee to be invincible. Without Lee, it is still good with the potential to be above average or excellent depending on how the breaks go
  17. They do. And some years they pile up and others you are healthy. It is strange
  18. We always seem to suffer a significant injury. 2008 it was Wang, Matsui, and Posada. 2009 was Wang. 2010 we were pretty healthy, just had a lot of underachievers.
  19. He hit for a ton more power. But no, I am talking about vs lefties. I dont have the number, but towards the end of August, he started hitting lefties well which was strange since he usually cannot touch them.
  20. Granderson was terrible vs lefties until the last 2 months of the year when Long altered his swing.
  21. Oh and welcome back Dutchy. You'll probably be gone by the new year
  22. They had their injury riddled season in 2008.
  23. Meche is coming off arm surgery I believe and his shoulder hasnt been healthy for 2 yrs now
  24. Guess you're right. Just wondering who the next pitching acquisition is going to be on the trade front, since the 2011 class is looking absolutely abysmal
