  1. Yarbrough is toast. That pen is thin. Sox should close this out. Looks like you got good Nate today
  2. Shockingly, Paxton is hurt again
  3. With so many Rays relievers down, their pen is now suspect. Although the Sox did tie it off of two of their best in Fairbanks and Castillo. Fun game to watch for sure
  4. wow, what a bonehead move
  5. Just a reminder, this is how you beat the Orioles
  6. Yeah, maybe. We shall see
  7. What a sucky inning. Bases loaded nobody out and three straight f***ing K’s
  8. That’s a wicked overpay for Odor. Cabello is so young and had a great start before injuries sidelined him. Stowers was a supp 1st rounder. That’s garbage. Should have waited for him to be released.
  9. I made a separate thread on it, but it’s intriguing since Cashman has made moves like this before and struck gold, but man is his stock low. The upside is there, but he needs his swing reworked. Way too much swing and miss. This seems to be strictly a move to counteract the tough righties later in games or to at least give a break against tough righty starters. For IF depth, Urshela can play SS and so can Lemahieu, so it’s not like they don’t have internal redundancies there. If Odor was RH hitting, this deal wouldn’t have come together.
  10. So the reasoning is to add some left handed power to the bench. Wade as the primary infielder is a true minus as an offensive player. Once Voit comes back, the entire infield (catcher included), the corner OFers and DH are all right handed. Odor has never lacked for power, but his K rates and BB rates have all gone in the wrong direction. Maybe Cash thinks he can be more useful as a super sub with the RF short porch? Yanks are supposedly sending a couple prospects and picking up very little cash.
  11. Why? Guy can’t hit anymore. Weird
  12. The Rays are still good. They just happen to have a washed up bud toeing the rubber every 5th day
  13. Whitlock is very interesting. As a Yankee prospect follower, he was always a guy who outperformed his draft position and stuff ticked up as he rose. Then he blew out his UCL and the Yanks didnt 40 man him, hence how he made it to you. He was an innings eating starter in the minors, but you dont have a spot for him in the rotation as of yet. I do think he can end up being a good starter on a big league squad, but I didnt realize his stuff ticked up even more post TJS. Shame on the Yanks for not rostering him. He was chucking 97 mph 2 seamers the other day. If that stuff stays and plays, the sox would have little choice but to get him into the rotation
  14. Your pen will be interesting. Andriese is a mop up innings guy who is FAR too hittable to be used in high leverage situations. Darwinzon is what he is. Dazzling stuff, horrendous command. I think we can all say that his command issues arent getting better and he may end up best on another squad to fix. There's almost no way to continue to roster a guy who walks 8 per 9IP. Ottavino is Ottavino, an enigma himself with good stuff some days and horrible command another. Barnes is another enigma too. Your pen is going to have some lights out stuff but have considerable limitations, especially with the almost total inability of your rotation to go deep into games
  15. You guys do face Glasnow, who is a beast and you are throwing Mr Below Average against him. The date may not matter.
  16. Devers has always been awful early on. In 2019, he started off slow then went on a tear. Heck, he did the same last year before the season ended prematurely due to covid. He has a special bat, you just need a place to hide his glove
  17. Michael Wacha is a juggs machine these days. Last year that was Charlie Morton in their 4 spot.
  18. I think you’ve scored enough to win
  19. It’s a save situation. In comes Ottavino, who sucks
  20. The bats finally came to life, but the pitching was most impressive again. 9 innings of shutout ball. Monty dominated. That’s how you beat the Orioles
  21. Working today. Don’t blow this Sox!
