  3. C: Joe Mauer 1B: Thome 2B: Utley SS: Jeter 3B: Wright LF: Crawford CF: Wells RF: Berkman Bench Mike Young Travis Hafner Alex Rodriguez Nick Swisher Grady Sizemore Adam Dunn Jason Varitek Nomar Garciaparra Troy Glaus Pitchers Scott Kazmir Jon Papelbon Brandon Webb Roy Halladay Curt Schilling Mike Mussina Roger Clemens Jered Weaver B.J Ryan Joe Nathan Jason Schmidt Roy Oswalt Josh Beckett
  4. The Padres stregethened their bullpen buy trading for former Red Sox Scott Williamson http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060722&content_id=1570101&vkey=trade2006&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  5. or striking out in the ninth
  6. BRACKET ONE Lou Gehrig (New York Yankees) vs Willie McCovey (San Francisco Giants) BRACKET TWO Jimmie Foxx (Philadelphia Athletics) vs Harmon Killebrew (Minnesota Twins) BRACKET THREE Gil Hodges (Brooklyn Dodgers) vs Frank Thomas (Chicago White Sox) BRACKET FOUR (Detroit Tigers) vs George Sisler (St. Louis Browns)
  7. Edgar is on the 40-man roster. I'm pretty sure that means that he has to come up in september
  8. The converted pitcher(from catching) is now converting eighth inning leads to wins for the Portland Sea Dogs http://www.soxprospects.com/players/images/martinez.edgar.jpg Age: 24 Born: October 23, 1981 Guigue, Venezuela Height: 6-0 Weight: 222 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: Not drafted How Acquired: International free agent (1999) ETA: late 2007 News Articles: http://www.redsoxnation.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=18002&pid=390313&st=0&
  9. Rozier is a Starting Pitcher for Greenville. The Sox signed him for more money than any other Sox draftee this century at 1,575,000 http://www.brewerfan.net/images/playerpix/amateur/michael_rozier.jpg Age: 21 Born: July 4, 1985 Resides: Stockbridge, GA Height: 6-5 Weight: 210 Bats: Left Throws: Left Drafted: 12th round, 2004 How Acquired: Draft High School: Henry County HS (GA) ETA: 2009 News Articles: http://http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/news/040824rozier.html http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2004/08/26/mientkiewicz_is_banged_up/
  10. Can I take EMart and Rozier
  11. And i thought Yankee fans were idiots
  12. I heard that if the Marlins run out of contention for the playoffs that they could be willing to part with Borowski and Moehler. The sox could probably get them for a couple prospects. Moehler when healthy can be better than Johnson and Synder and can move to the bullpen when Wells or Clement get back. Borowski give us a veteran pitcher in the bullpen.
  13. Loretta has played 593 games at second before this season, 328 at short, 175 at third, and 160 at first
  14. I'm pretty sure Loretta's has played every infield postion
  15. C grade(I don't think we have a decent catcher the the minors)
  16. Maybe Theo's friend kevin Towers could help them out and giveup Linebrink for someone like Tavarez and a C prospect
  17. Your probably right but I would love to see Vazquez beat the Yankees when they pay a forth of his salary
  18. Now that the White Sox are willing to give up either Vazquez or Garcia how 'bout trading a couple of B Level prospects(Murphy and Martinez or Buccholz) and a GOOD relief pitcher(would probably have to find a thrid team since the Red Sox bullpen already sucks)for Vazquez . Both pitchers' contracts go 'til 07 so I think Vazquez would probably be the best choice since the Red Sox would have to pay about 3 mil less a year
  19. Figured i'd make a thread where people can post random trade ideas. Here's mine: Bos gets: Brandon Wood, Howie Kendrick, and Jered Weaver Angels get: Manny and cash then... Bos gets: Bobby Abreu PHI gets: Edgar Martinez, Ryan Klesko, cash SD gets: Chad Spann, Keith Foulke (when healthy) The sox would go from having a below average rotation to one of the best with: 1. Schilling 2. Beckett 3. Weaver 4. Lester 5. Wakefield They would still have a decent lineup: 1. Youks 2. Loretta 3. Ortiz 4. Abreu 5. Nixon 6. Tek 7. Lowell 8. Crisp 9. Gonzalez And would have three of the best young infielders in the game: 1. wood 2. kendrick 3.pedroia
  20. "decent prospect, like Abe Alvarez" Alvarez is below average at best
  21. Yesterdays game was the best
  22. MVP- Papelbon Comeback Pitcher: Schilling Comeback postion Player: Loretta (lowell won a gold golve last year) Cy Young: Papelbon Best Golve- Do I have to choose Best Catch: Coco Biggest Dissapointment of a pitcher: Clement Biggest Dissapointment of a postion player: Varitek
  23. While were at it why don't we just trade the entire Pawtucket team for Smoltz and Hudson. NOT
  24. Scherjoltz is not going to trade away Giles and Smoltz and rebuild for the future just because they had one lousy year. MAYBE one but not two. The sox don't need to trade away Pedroia for a great pitcher all they need is a decent #3 maybe they can trade away Pena for some above average pitcher and move Murphy up.
  25. Bard is pitching today against Alabama. The game will either be on ESPN2 or ESPNU depending on where you live. The game is at 7.
