  6. yeszir told me to stop starting political thread in the gen discussions section and he moved the few i did post to the anything goes section or forum. once i started posting in anything goes a staff member which was not yeszir started closing the threads that yeszir said i could start in that section of the board so here i am receiving insults from a staff that seems to be stepping on each others toes. besides, the last thread i started was about another country spying on ours which imo was more patriotic than political. as cheesy as that may sound.
  7. yes i do, just snoop around and you'll notice that i post more baseball related threads than your average member. most of the political threads i started were in the old 'anything goes' section which didn't live up to its name because those too were closed. what's so bad about political threads anyways? if a member doesn't like what another member posts shouldn't that member just ignore the said thread? we're all big boys here, aren't we? btw, you don't need to swear schill. lets keep it civil.
  8. why not warn those who were responsible for those crappy responses? seems like personal attacks against certain members are allowed for some reason.
  9. i don't disrespect any of you so what gives? even staff closes my threads for no reason at all. :dunno:

  16. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/extra_points/080221_polian_H.hmedium.jpg Several of you have forwarded to us the link to a Super Bowl week Radio Row interview of now-former NFL V.P. of officiating Mike Pereira, who sat down with Mike Felger and Tony Massarotti of 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston. Among other things, Pereira talked about the renewed emphasis that was placed in the middle of the last decade on the rule regarding illegal contact with receivers. Pereira made it clear that Colts president Bill Polian, a long-time member of the Competition Committee, pushed the issue due to the perception/reality that Patriots defensive backs were manhandling Indianapolis receivers. Pereira was candid regarding his belief that the change to the application of the rule made little sense. Specifically, he said that the notion that a flag would be thrown and a first down awarded regardless of whether the contact actually generates an advantage for the defensive team "didn't seem logical." "It was difficult for us," he said. "You always tried to officiate the game advantage-disadvantage. And so it didn't seem logical . . . to me at the time. I probably wouldn't be saying this if I didn't have just four quarters left to go in my career. But it didn't seem logical to me that you would take advantage-disadvantage out of the equation, that just a touch became a foul whether or not it had an affect or not." Pereira also explained that the spike in illegal-contact calls has since leveled out, with the spike in calls subsiding over time. But his broader point is an eye-opener. Not only did Pereira make it clear that Polian pushed the "point of emphasis" through the Competition Committee, but Pereira also was refreshingly candid regarding his disagreement with the requirement that any contact with a receiver after five yards mandated a five-yard penalty and an automatic first down. > http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/02/10/pereira-says-emphasis-on-illegal-contact-didnt-seem-logical/
  17. http://cdn0.sbnation.com/entry_photo_images/253620/younginer_large.jpg Younginer features four surprisingly advanced pitches for a prospect coming straight out of high school; 4-seam and 2-seam fastballs, 12-6 curveball, and a newly-developed changeup that sits in the low-80's. While it may more often than not be his high-90's fastball that garners the most attention at this point in his career, his best pitch is arguably his curveball which has been described as devastating to hitters within his age group (one scout even going as far as saying that it made his high school competition "weep"). SoxProspects.com compares Younginer's overall game to that of Kerry Wood. I asked Madison whether he felt that was an accurate depiction of him as a pitcher. I also asked him which pitchers he modeled his game after while growing up in South Carolina; -cont- > http://www.overthemonster.com/2010/1/29/1271555/interviewing-red-sox-pitching
