  1. I can't believe people are already judging this trade. WMP has 5 at bats and everyone is giving up on him....jeez people look at David Ortiz. Minnesota did the same thing to him alot of people are doing to WMP and look Ortiz now. WMP is a kid, he needs time. But the fact is Arroyo is a #3 starter at best, WMP is potentially a All-Star cleanup hitter. This trade may seem bad this year, next year, maybe even the year after that. But in 2,3,4 years when WMP is a All-Star outfielder nobody will be talking about this being a bad trade.
  2. I will go with 8....what does the winner get?
  3. What is the over under on how many innings Papelbon throws before he gives up a run? Between Beckett, Schilling, and Papelbon our pitching is looking damn good.
  4. Was it the umps fault Arod was not ready on that line drive and because of that the Royals are now up 7-4?
  5. Sturtze comes in and gives up a 2 run jack to Shane Costa. Nice. Followed by a ground rule double from Mark Grudzielanek (sp?).
  6. Big Papi is the man that's for sure! I'm glad to see him get what he deserves.
  7. I agree....kind of. I don't know if WMP can play CF, but it would never hurt to give him a shot Stern will have his struggles. One of the problems I see is the lineup. With Stern in the lineup he can clearly bat leadoff, but WMP is no leadoff hitter. We could move Loretta up to leadoff and maybe put Varitek/Nixon/Youk in the #2 spot?
  8. Finally someone newer then me! Welcome to the board.
  9. Ever broke a knuckle punching something? I did about 3 weeks ago, and my ring and pinky fingers are still useless when it comes to picking things up. Let alone holding a bat, catching, and throwing. It's a blow to lose Coco if we do, but we will be just fine so long as our pitching continues as it has.
  10. It seems like on sundays Dirt Dogs doesn't update.
  11. If Crisp is out it's not the end of the world. I broke my knuckle punching a metal newspaper stand, it's been about 3 1/2 weeks and it is still sore sometimes when I move it. If he is out, the Red Sox will find a way to play without him. My question is do we trust Stern playing every day for a month or do we try and find a way that maybe WMP plays center? I guess what im asking is what are the options if he is out?
  12. To answer my own question.... Transactions July 15, 1998: Signed by the New York Mets as an amateur free agent. February 28, 1999: Free agent signing by the New York Mets voided. April 5, 1999: Signed as a Free Agent with the New York Yankees. March 21, 2001: Traded by the New York Yankees to the Cincinnati Reds for Drew Henson and Michael Coleman. http://www.baseball-reference.com/p/penawi01.shtml
  13. Lebron is the man, so is Mello. Im not sure which guy I like more but they are almost the only reason I watch any NBA. Pierce is having a great season, it sucks that the Celtics are so damn horrible while he is blowing up.
  14. I hear from someone that Willy Mo is who the Yankees traded to get Drew Henson, anyone know if that is true? My opinion on WMP, is give him time. We all knew he would K alot, he's young and talented and has yet to get 400 AB's at the MLB level.
  15. Im not any good, but it's still fun to mess around with. What programs do you guys use?
  16. It's all good, we are all *******s when it comes down to it. Yeah man anything you would want like that, I could come up with a design or something and send it to you. All you would have to do is print off the design and take it to a t-shirt company. I will be around, so just let me know.
  17. Nice board you got here, I know some places get so many signatures and stuff like that it makes it hard to read through the threads. So I can understand what you are saying. Im glad to be here, and it's nice to see some administrators that will actually give you the time of day. BTW, if you ever want something made for the board graphics wise give me a holler. At the least you can check it out and see if you like it.
  18. Ok, just making sure before I tried anything. I mess around with some graphic design programs so I got some stuff, but I understand. Thanks for replying.
  19. Are we allowed to have pictures in our signature?
  20. As good as Papelbon was last night, I don't think you can say he has absolutely taken the job from Foulke. As bad as Foulke has been the last two years he was the guy that carried us to a world series (not to mention his salary), we have to give him atleast a few more chances to show he can get back to that form. On top of that Papelbon has only saved one game...don't judge a book by it's cover. Not saying Papelbon won't be a good closer for us, but it's only one game.
  21. Will we see Willy Mo the first time we face a lefty?
  22. I honestly think that if we had a 2 or 3 run lead last night Foulke would have got his chance. Beckett had pitched very good and was very emotional about it, he got out of alot of jams and kept our team in the game until Trot got us the lead. You have to set a tone early in the season, and Tito set a good tone for the team last night. I loved the move, but I did not expect it. The problem with this move is that if your manager does not have confidence in you, how can you have confidence in yourself? I think the Red Sox need to work Foulke back in situations like they did opening day until Tito believes he is ready. Papelbon looked great and until a starter goes down and we need him in the rotation, I think him being the closer makes the Red Sox a better team.
  23. What's up people. Sox fan here from Wichita, KS.... Yeah I know your saying where? Well it's the place that makes all those airplanes you fly in. Was born in the city of sin up there in Mass. Been a Sox fan for 22 years, my entire life. Glad to find a nice Sox board to post on that SOSH board is rough place. This board looks well put together and im looking foward to the conversations. :harhar:
