Konerko said in the Chicago papers that he would either stay in Chicago or go west. I'd love to keep him in Chicago, because he and Buerhle are the heart of the team, from a leadership standpoint. That said, the White Sox always go cheap. Boston doesn't need more hitting. They need pitching and "different" hitting ..... get somebody on in front of the 3-4-5-6 hitters .... bunt, slap, whatever. That's what the White Sox did a lot of this year. We don't have a .300 hitter on the team. Pitching, defense, "get-em-on/get-em-over/get-em-in" is going to be the way to win in the steroid-less era. Don't wait for the long ball because it ain't coming !
