  1. hey guys, let's hope we wont play like yesterday. i'm omptimistic, were gonna beat'em. let's go boomer!
  2. Aug. 3rd '05 Manny Ramirez and Edgar Renteria, both sprawled on the outfield grass in short left field in the top of the second inning on Wednesday night against the Royals. Ramirez had raced in to short left to make a catch on a ball hit by Ruben Gotay. Renteria had went charging back, not knowing if Ramirez would be able to get there in time. Right as the ball landed in Ramirez's glove for the final out of the inning, Renteria plowed into his teammate, smacking the left fielder across the face with his glove. All things considered, the Red Sox got out of the situation in pretty good condition. Ramirez and Renteria both came off the field under their own power. Ramirez, whose nose was bloodied as he left, was diagnosed with two contusions, one on the right side of his chest and the other on the right side of his face. He was taken to Mass. General Hospital for precautionary tests on his right eye, but he was thought to be OK. The red-hot slugger is day-to-day.
  3. we'll take the lead home if we continue like this. Sharp baserunning
  4. bellhorn and renteria is the better team in the middle infield i guess
  5. i like american commercial more than others 'cuz they included ironic things.
  6. a yankee fan caught the ball!
  7. nice. well done millar.
  8. and thats a homer for manny great oh he's in spectacular form manny being manny
  9. he's a cool pitcher. i like him because for me he always looks calm until he steps on the mound and get his angry face. it's a pleasure watchin' him playing ball.
  10. he hits well and his defending play is good too sooooo i guess he is a great playmate and fits nicely in the red sox team. books can be critizised by others who didn't like reading it. everyone has his favorite. thanks for your hint with bloomer wells' book. i'm gonna read it. i live in switzerland so it's pretty hard to get these books. that sucks!
  11. ok maybe i qualified the book higher than others 'cause he's my favorite player. don't you like his personality or the way he writes?
  12. it's a fantastic book in which he's telling about his career and how he managed.
  13. wakefield is consisted because he's a knuckleballer. if he would throw faster, around 90's let's say, he would have to leave as the others do too. all in all he's a good knuckleballer but if he throws his 4seamer the pitch is around 80mph and not more. my opinion: he's just in the sox lineup because he throws a knuckleball.
  14. wakefield strikes out 7. his knuckleball is amazing. I guess he trows a 4seamer, a curve and his knucklecurve. if he would throw two more like a 2seamer and a slider it would be much more effective. I know that it is pretty difficult to face a knuckelballer but Wakef. could be better! I know he doesen't have great velocity but...
  15. Yes that's true actuelly. I agree. last game Graffanino had batting average of .301. not bad for a hitter in the bottom of the lineup I guess. Graffanino got his chance to show his advantages these days.
  16. I like Bellhorn too. maybe he's not great in the batters box like ortiz but he's got a few sharp plays on 2B. I think he fits in the team perfectly, doesn't he?
  17. Manny being Manny! He did a great game vs Kansas City.
  18. hey, i'd like to say hello from switzerland
