  1. No, but I have enough respect for the historical significance of the building to say that MLB should have treated the event with due respect
  2. yea, but it should be the Red Sox and it should be on the last day of the season. the only thing MLB got right was that it's happening on a weekend
  3. I equate Schilling to Merloni and Daubach in the fact that all three shared a clubhouse with Manny.
  4. I'm sure he cares about the Sox, he took less than he would've made other places and I'm sure most of the people he's friendly with in baseball are in the Sox clubhouse
  5. the O's are in town tonight to kick off the final series ever at Yankee Stadium. man, did MLB ever blow this or what...
  6. I'd say he cares about baseball and the tradition and integrity of the sport as opposed to the Sox and will call out anyone who disrespects the game, hence his outspokenness regarding the steroid issue
  7. He said "What you guys hear and see is generally 10 to 20 percent of what exists." in response to Glenn Ordway saying Ortiz appeared to be short with the media before Manny left obviously implying he was very frustrated with Manny but was trying to put on a good face. "The guy got to dress in a locker away from the team for seven years," "[speaking to Merloni:] Lou, you're in Seattle, and if you refused to get on a team plane, you know what they'd do? They'd give you an Air France ticket home." And then Merloni saying that he spoke with someone in the clubhouse asking them how bad it was and they responded by saying "Carl Everett" Now some already knew these things and some didn't, but it did bring it to light.
  8. I'm saying he's been getting Manny-related questions all season long anyway cause he was seen as his best friend. The media obviously feels differently because of the headlines this made but to me, Curt Schilling is no different from Lou Merloni or Brian Daubach now
  9. And you don't think the first question he gets from out-of-town reporters is about Manny anyway?
  10. I dont see anything to defend, he's not in the clubhouse at all and most don't even consider him a member of the team anymore so I dont see how his comments could possibly serve as a distraction, at least no more than the ******** Manny was pulling here
  11. he wanted to voice his opinion and bring to light certain things that were in the dark, thats all you're gonna hear a lot more of this type of stuff from a lot of other people during the off-season
  12. its amazing that everyone loves it when athletes speak their minds but when Schilling goes on EEI and is asked a question and then answers is truthfully as opposed to the conventional "things just didn't work out and Manny felt it was time for a change" answer and then people come out of the woodwork and call him a blowhard when all he does is go on and voice his opinion which guess what? we all do here on a daily basis
  13. I dont see what the Red Sox paying him has to do with WEEI also paying him
  14. im waiting for one of you guys to come in and say Schilling has no right to criticize Manny cause he hasnt pitched all year
  15. ok, what's wrong with what Schilling said? .....besides the fact that it was Curt Schilling saying it
  16. yea, they could be better but my point is they're doing fine scoring runs as it is and Varitek probably plays a large part in run prevention hence the strong run differential. Id rather be where we are than closer to what the Rangers are
  17. wasted a complete gem by Beckett
  18. Beckett is a f***ing horse
