  1. ok seriously, how many f***ing Teixeira-related threads are we gonna see on this board?
  2. thats what happens when he gets DFAed cause Theo said he was in the twilight of his career
  3. How can losing a crapshoot be a flop?
  4. Is he a hypocrite if he retires?
  5. Agree to disagree then. I believe teams with better pitching have a better chance at playoff success. You think the WS winner is decided by whoever's ping-pong ball comes out of a machine.
  6. Let me know when the win % parade is gonna be held
  7. Milton Bradley vs. Lou Piniella in a steel cage match, I can see it now
  8. its hard to blame John Henry for not opening up his wallet, the price of SPF 5994920 sunscreen has skyrocketed
  9. cant wait to see who they get to be the 4th outfielder...
  10. really? this hasnt been discussed enough?
  11. I said they need a top 6 winger and they know it, thats why they gave up so much to have Marian Hossa as a rental last year. They won't go that far with Petr Sykora as their top winger. There's no team in the east playing better than Boston so there really isn't a point in trying to convince you who will beat them but all I'm saying is teams like Philly, Montreal, New Jersey, Washington and Pittsburgh could take the east as well. It becomes a bigger issue the further you get into the season.
  12. So according to Rosenthal, that makes him a perfect fit for the Sox
  13. sign Lowe and make Wakefield the long reliever
  14. Theo would like Buchholz to start the season by ripping up Triple A and then translating that success to the majors. But his 2008 did nothing to suggest that the Sox can count on him right now. Hence the Penny signing...
  15. Would be a perfect fit though. He could put up his numbers in anonymity and San Fran fans have proved they'll cheer for anybody
  16. Burnett had a lovely month of September in an opt-out year just to make his ERA respectable, whoop dee f***ing do
  17. I still think if the market is only giving Lowe three years, the Sox are stupid not to get in on that
  18. As much as I hate A-Rod, it isnt fair to put him in the same category as Clemens.
  19. The fact that reports suggest Posada is throwing well in December are irrelevant. It's how he's throwing in June you should worry about.
  20. The concern of Penny returning from major shoulder surgery vastly exceeds the concern of Penny being a career NLer. I think the fact that AL hitters are unfamiliar with Penny plays to his advantage. Beckett didn't have a tough go cause he was coming from the NL, he had a tough first year cause he threw a stupidly high amount of fastballs
  21. I dont think the Sox would tolerate a utility guy with a known attitude problem. The fact that he's injury prone just adds to it
  22. I think it would take a lot for the Sox to deviate from a plan for the 2010 rotation to be Beckett-Lester-DiceK-Buchholz-Bowden when considering trades
  23. in fact, it makes it "Detroit autoheads going to Washington on a private jet to ask for a bailout"-level ridiculous
