The NFL Playoff Contest is now open. It's listed under the Contests and Prizes Forum. It's open to a members that participated in at least one week in the NFL Pick contest. There are 29 of you eligible. There's $ 200 up for grabs. http://www.talksox.com/forum/showthread.php?p=216650#post216650

The regular season is over. Now its time for the playoffs. We did this contest last year and it was a lot of fun. This a cumulative point contest picking against the spread. Entries for this week must be submitted by Saturday 1/6/7 12:00 PM EST. How to play : You pick the playoff games against the spread ( just like the weekly NFL Pick Contest ). However, the wins or losses are converted to points. Points are awarded as follows : Win = +1 point Loss = -1 point Ties = 0 point So, as an example, if you go 2-2 on your first 4 picks, your point total would be 0. Since it's a cumulative contest, the scores are carried over and combined with the next week. This continues until the Super Bowl. A point to remember is that scores can decrease as well as increase. There are 4 weeks of play. Week 2 may be skipped, the other three weeks are mandatory participation. The person with most points after the Super Bowl wins. In the event of a tie, the tie breaker will be the total points scored in the Super Bowl. The Rules : 1) You must have played in at least one NFL Picks Contest ( there are 29 eligible ). 2) You must make picks in week 1 ( Wild Card round ), week 3 ( Championship round ), and week 4 ( Super Bowl ). Failure to do so means disqualification. 3) Use the provided template and bold your picks. 4) There must be at least 15 entrants in week 1. 5) Entries for week 1 must be posted by 1/6/7 12:00 PM EST. I don't think that's correct. I thought that there was a rule that the Wild Card can't play a team in their division in the first round. Meaning that the Jets can't play the Pats in the first round.

Are you serious ? He ran for 230 yards, that has nothing to do with his announcement. The guy has played his ass off for this team, yet you want to blame the team's poor play on him. Get real. Hoiw about the poor play by a QB named Manning ? How about poor coaching ? How about injuries ? Instead, you choose to dump on the most consistent contributor on the team. He owes the Giants, NFL fans, and you nothing. He's honored all his commitments with a high degree of performance. Just because he's smart enough to walk away before he becomes a cripple he's self centered ? I think not. I guess you think Jim Brown is an ******* also. There have been others that retired early for a number of reasons. If you ever played the game, or at least talked to people who have ( college or above ) you'd understand how absurd you sound.
