    6/26 Jays @ Sox, 7:10 pm

    Sox going for the series.

Two righties, Rodriguez (5.94) vs. Crawford (3.59)

Cora loading up with lefty bats--

    Duran CF
    Hamilton SS
    Abreu RF
    Devers 3B
    Refsnyder LF (only righty bat)
    Yoshida DH
    Valdez 2b
    Smith 1B
    McGuire C

Despite last night's debacle and thanks to Winckowski's 6 IP and 2 ER, the bullpen should be good for tonight. Plus tomorrow is a day off. Friday Wong should be back for the Padres.

My NOAA map says they aren't going to get this game in. After this current batch of rain, bigger one is right behind.

Game suspended. Jays play the Yankees tomorrow in Toronto. So why this was a night game is anyone's guess.

I went to my mlb app which knows all and learned--

Game will be made up on Aug 26 as part of a split double header.

My app also says the Casas MRI was "clean" and that today he swung in the batting cage with roughly 75% effort. I think that means Casas and the Sox medical staff are feeling pretty good but absolutely, positively aren't sure how this will turn out.

Because Toronto has made a habit of scheduling a night game on getaway day.
The Yankees could go 0-162 and it wouldn't be enough

Sox had to do it last Sunday night after the game when they flew to Toronto. 2 hour flight.

    But it's not smart.

I didn't know the teams had that much say in it.
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.

How often are there afternoon games at Fenway during the week?

This was a huge point of contention for AGon.

Good point. For the Sunday night game, clearly no say. But last night, why wouldn't they? Of course, the Sox and Jays front offices would probably vote for a night game to ensure better attendance.

Was he for or against day games at Fenway? Was he the one who thought day games affected his ability to see pitches?

FOR! He was made that all the getaway games were late. He wanted early travel days.

Pretty sure virtually all weekday afternoon games at Fenway are on getaway days for the Red Sox. If it’s just the end of a series but the Sox are staying home for another series, then it’s almost always a night game.

Obvious exceptions are opening day and a home game on one of the major holidays.
