I have seen enough of Bello to save me from watching him through the rest of his extension. Turns a 2-0 lead into a 3-2 shitshow , still with only 1 out.

Signing him early was a totally mistake.

Here's hoping Bello has his good stuff and especially good command tonight.
Turns out he does not have either command nor control

Two major sins, so far, by Bello. Walking a guy after being ahead 0-2 and giving up a hit on an 0-2 count.
Fortunately, the SOX have an ACE at this point in the season, but it ain't the guy many thought it would be.
That guy, imho, may be able to peak as a middle of the rotation pitcher.

But what if he became an ace? The extension would have cost way more!

What about the Sox fielding? Could the grounder to Devers have been a GIDP? Could the grounder to Grissom have been an out?

Ace? I didn’t/don’t see that kind of talent in that arm.

That play could have been a marginal shot at a DP, softly hit, Grissom was positioned well to right of second for the LH hitter. He would have to have been closer to the base for a shot at DP

Neither do I, but Bello isn't being paid anywhere near what an ace gets.

Grissom only reached the ball with a dive into the OF grass, and sort of turned the wrong way for a throw to first. Again pretty marginal shot at the runner.

Bello is going to be around 4.2 ERA at the end of his career. i.e. No 4. kind of pitcher in my book.
