Thread: 4/09 O's @ SOX 2:10PM EST

Based on inflation and ridiculous contracts, I wonder what the total payroll of that 2004 SOX team would be today?

RF and CF are in good shape when Tyler and Rafaela are out there.

Can they hit good pitching? Bello hasn’t matched him as well.

I had to add the 'when' part.

'Good pitching' usually means hard to hit. That's where the 'good' part comes in.

Plus with Burnes I’d say “good” is an understatement. Hes pretty great.

The OP never has quite gotten that concept.
The Yankees could go 0-162 and it wouldn't be enough

As Moon says, it's not just the actual scored errors, it's the plays not made . Did no one see that the O's runner had a clear sailing to 3rd ? Also I think Winckowski has a 2 out pitching problem

I understand Story getting hurt doesn’t help, but it’s disappointing to see how bad the defense has been when it was supposed to be an upgrade this season and was emphasized all off season.

Rafaela dropped an easy pop fly that led to 4 unearned runs. Duran did the same today. With this Sox defense, absolutely nothing is guaranteed.

And let's not forget that the same guys making all the errors and giving up the unearned runs are the guys who can't hit a lick.

Only the pitching has been good this season so far.

They were patient with Sale and Paxton and when they were finally healthy they released them. Wtf?

Valdez has been absolutely atrocious so far this season. He can’t hit or field

I believed having Story at SS all this season would be a definitive upgrade. I feel the OF of Duran, Rafaela and O'Neil is an upgrade. 3rd base, 2nd base, 1st base are the same as last year. I don't feel the catcher position was a problem last season.

Funny you only remember the one error each these two made and forgot some great catches they made. Selective memory.
