The extra games helps, too, as WAR is helped by more games being played.

He's still the best. (Acuna is on his heals. Soto might be, too.

Betts is making the move to shortstop look like cake. Pretty incredible, really.
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.

    MLBTR's top FAs this winter:

    1. Soto (I doubt we make this kind of splash signing, even if we traded Duran.)
    2. Burnes (Just what we need.)
    3. Bregman (Has declined, and would force Devers to share 1B/DH w Casas.)
    4. Alonso (Casas to DH?)
    5. Snell (SP'er is a need)
    6. Fried (another SP'er- will be 31, next year.)
    7. Bellinger (Nope.)
    8. Willy Adames (SS, move Story to 2B or DH?)
    9. Kim (2B/SS, hmmmm?)
    10. Montgomery (One year older.)
Others: Buehler, Chapman, Flaherty, Goldschmidt, THern, Montas, O'Neill, Severino, Torres, Verlander, C Walker, Scherzer

And back on that list is Matt Chapman. He's off to an awful start with the bat, but already has 4 DRS (tied for 4th in MLB). But unlike every name on that list except Bellinger and Snell, Chapman is ineligible for a Qualifying Offer.

He would create a logjam at 1B/DH with Casas, Devers and Yoshida. But that can be worked out in a couple different ways...

It's still a stupid idea for LA, who has other options but for some reason likes Teoscar Hernandez in RF and former SS Chris Taylor in LF. Of course, for their best defense, they could simply plug Miguel Rojas back in at SS, put Betts back in RF, and move Teoscar to the other corner.

But apparently they like exposing Betts' knees oncoming runners. And you gotta get Chris Taylor's .184 OPS in that lineup.

Machado plays in that division. It's not knee, it's him.

At least they called up Andy Pages today to get Taylor out of that lineup.

But I still think Roberts is being stupid for playing Betts out of position...

HR's are down 15%. Carry distance is on par with the deadball of April '22.

    On a Rockies chartered flight:

United Airlines and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating how a passenger gained access to the cockpit of a 757 at cruise altitude in violation of the company’s policy and FAA regulations.

    @CespedesBBQ
Did not have "Rockies hitting coach Hensley Meulens getting a pilot investigated by the FAA" on my 2024 MLB Bingo Card

Wouldn't this be due to the cold weather?

Not if you're comparing this April vs previous Aprils.
