No HR's this week for Cutter, but he's still gone 4-8. Hot bat!

Coffey, Campbell, Mayer, Teel and Anthony have all raked since May 1.

Mayer is having one of those mini bursts that you often see leading into a promotion. 11 for 22 with 4 doubles in his last 5 games.

I think we are getting closer to a Mayer and Teel promotion to AAA in the next few weeks. Anthony may trail little bit behind, but should still be promoted this season.

I don't think we see any of them this year in BOS. Mayer has an outside chance if he keeps hitting and the Sox see the production dip in MIF, but the team is still in it.

Juan Valera today for the FCL Red Sox:

    4 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

Retired 11 of the 15 batters he faced and lowered his ERA on the season to 2.31 over 21 1/3 innings. Opponents are batting just .143 against him.

    Mayer’s splits are very extreme.

I think teel is ready for Worcester. He has some things to work on but he is ready for Worcester

That is concerning, but it's just 52 ABs in 2024 v LHPs.

    In '23 it was .710
    .896 in '22
.887 in '21 (actually better than v RHPs)
When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

Meidroth has walked in 14 of his last 16 games and 24 times, total!

He has a .517 OBP in June. It was .398 in May and .462 in April.

There is a HUGE difference in competition as you climb the ladder. If he's struggling against LHP in AA, you can't just write it off as SSS.

What he needs to work on is the defense. That's what isn't showing up on the boxscore.

I'm not writing it off. I'm just saying the SSS might not reflect any actual major problem.

I did say it was "concerning," so I don't know where you get the "writing off" aspect of your post.

Cutter Coffey is 16 for his last 36 with 8 HRs and 20 rbi!

    WOW!

I'd keep him down in Greenville for a while. He hasn't had any success while being in the organization. Let him enjoy it for away and get his confidence back before he has to take the next jump. Going to AA is arguably the toughest leap in MiLB.

Agreed. 36 PAs is not a long enough time to radically change the plan. Now, if they were close to promoting him before this stretch, then maybe, but I doubt they were.

From his scouting report: Needs to improve pitch recognition, especially against breaking balls. Some questions about how his contact skills will translate against more advanced pitching.

It's not a surprise that he's now struggling with a split.

    GRE 23: 37.5 k% vs LHP, 20.0 k% vs RHP
    SAL 22: 34.8 k% vs LHP, 23.9 k% vs RHP
