But I’d bet some would be surprised if they looked it up.
Not in the player, but maybe in the direction of the types of players they are looking to sign.

Maybe, even with that I'm not so sure. If you look at the signing grouped together as years, they're not signing a shortage of RHB, or Pitchers out of the Dominican. Those guys just aren't trickling up to the top.

I could keep buying lotto tickets and complain that they aren't hitting, I suppose the solution would be to just start buying lotto tickets that are winners.

From what I've been reading lately, it seems like more money spent on pitching yields better results in the Rule 5 draft than the IFA arena anyways. But still, numbers isn't the problem, they take pitchers, most just don't pan out.

Sogard continues to impress me! He is making solid contact.

They now have Criswell in the bullpen and - just to further their credibility - have put Tyler O’Neill on the bench…

Didn’t O’Neil get another soft tissue injury???

    Duran - left field.
    Rafeala - center field
    Abreau - right field.
    Yoshida - DH
    O’Neil - trainers table
Refsyder - IR (replaced by dalbec?)

I'm thinking maybe Criswell deserves a slot on the 26 and may do well.

(I thought that about Andriese, too.)

Platoon of O'Neilll/Abreu and O'Neilll is the weakside of the platoon so gets less AB's? Maybe that's how it's forecasted? IDK.

    I think it's more like a 4-way time share:

    LF: O'Neill/Duran
    CF: Duran/Rafaela
    RF: Abreu/O'Neill

Duran & Abreu can sit vs most LH'd SP'ers.
Rafaela may sit vs many RH'd SP'ers.
O'Neill has pretty even splits, but may sit vs more RH'd SPers.

We had over 2100 PAs in the OF, last year. Certainly, we will go more than 4 deep, but assuming 100% health, we could divide the PAs as such:

600 O'Neill (sits vs some RHPs)
550 Duran (sits vs some LHPs)
    475 Abreu (sits vs LHPs)
475 Rafaela (sits vs some RHPs)

    @CarlosACollazo of @BaseballAmerica
has released his first mock draft of 2024 and he has the Red Sox taking Duke LHP Jonathan Santucci with the 12th pick.

    Local kid from Leominster. He’s made 4 starts this spring with a 2.29 ERA, 16.0 K/9, and 4.6 BB/9.

The Spx AAA roster might be squeezed, this year as numerous top prospects are slated to start the year in AA:

    1. Anthony 19 years old
    2. Mayer 21
    3. Teel 22
    9. Wikelman 21
    17. Hickey 24 (make or break time?)
    18. Paulino 21
    20. Jordan 21
    24. Dobbins 24
    28. Bastardo 22
    30. Hoppe 25
Also: Rosier, Troye, Penrod, I Coffey, Olivares, Sykes, McDonough, Zeferjahn & Lugo may knock on AAA's door with a strong start to 2024.)

Some AAA players that may be moved:

Dalbec, especially if we keep Cron, may be traded or DFA'd.
Criswell, Fitts (not on 40), Walter or some other pitcher may be promoted to MLB.
DHam, Sogard (not on 40), Yorke or a catcher like Heineman may be promoted, if needed.
AAA trade material : Yorke or Meidroth
    AAA DFA possibilities: Jacques, Dalbec
Might move on: R Gonzalez, M Contreras, D Guthrie, J Westbrook, S Scott or M Kolozsvary, E Alvarez, Cam Bosser, Shugart, Politi, Adon.
