    Chris Sale traded to Braves

BREAKING: The Atlanta Braves are acquiring seven-time All-Star Chris Sale in a trade with the Boston Red Sox, sources tell ESPN. Well-regarded infield prospect Vaughn Grissom is the return to Boston, which will send money with Sale, who waived his no-trade clause to join Atlanta

    Shocking.

Now, I wonder why we aren’t spending on top pitching even more than I have, this whole winter.
When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

Ha ha! Stars for prospects! The Red Sox way. Nice gesture, though, to pick up part of his salary. Now who will be the first apologist to argue this shows the RS commitment to home-grown talent.
"Fans have become more entitled than anything. So they're starting to question our motives for the game, or how we approach the game. The ones that do question -- like who are you? Just shut up and watch the game tonight." --Kevin Durant on players' lack of effort in regular season games.

Well there is the 2B answer possibly. Now does this mean that Breslow is looking at moving a middle infielder or two in trade? Fair question.

I won't say that - but Sale has also has 2.6 WAR over the last 4 seasons combined.

The trade to get Sale was excellent, the extension not so much....now I can finally move on from my love affair with Sale.

    Wow is right.

The Braves' offseason has been perplexing:

You have to think this is followed up by an additional move to upgrade the starting rotation. They’re also taking a chance on 6 years on a 23 year old who could be their 2nd baseman of the future.

I’m definitely not sad to see Sale get traded, but I don’t like paying $17M to do it.
